I just came back from a trip to NYC and Albany NY. I am very happy to see the Indo Guyanese communities making tremendous progress despite the recession.
What is very disturbing the the gap between African Americans and other communities especially Albany NY where some of the poverty that I saw was worse than third world standards. This community seem the hardest hit by the recession.
What are their community leaders and politicians doing to help them ? I left shaking my head. Is this type of poverty in America a dirty secret ?
