""Total disrespect of our heritage, a total disrespect of everything that we stand for," he said --- adding for emphasis: "Everything that we stand for."
Notice the use of "our heritage" and "we" in those two sentences above."
The we he talking about seems to be referencing white folks...who were almost 100% of his audience

America is not a communist country, I can see if you are an employee of the government, well, you have to listen to the president or be fired, but these NFL, NBA and others in sports are like independent contractors, they can choose to stand or not. We are all in politics, Trump is a businessman and now in politics, so he cannot say those players to stick to sports. I say, use whatever forum you have to protest , protest against the government, the police, the KKK and even against the Minority President , Fake Trump. Impeach the Son Of B***h.

Trump is an ass. He is miserable because he is not loved and admired as he thought he would be so he lashes out like a petulant child. That misery isn't leaving him anytime soon because his only love, himself, will eventually get sacrificed by the time Mueller is done with his investigation.

Importantly, America is not any communist or dictatorship country where peoples' right to expression is suppressed. Imagine a president saying in open mic "son of a bitch". In Biden's defense, he didn't know that the mic was open and he wasn't even president. Trump is a low life rodent who was able to dress himself up in his father's money. Below all his golden covering is raw sewage.

This is a great country Yugi where people are free to choose not to stand for the Anthem. Jehovah Witnesses because of their religious belief do not stand.

These Athletes like Athletes of the past, including Muhamad Ali, chose to protest in the most respectful way, by kneeling.

Trump is just beeing himself, a bum!

You are extremely kind to elevate him to that level.

This is all about respect for the American Anthem, the American Flag, Those serving their country and those who gave their lives for their country.

I stand by what I say and public opinion is against those who disrespect their country.

It will backfire against those who are setting a very bad example.

There are other ways to protest. The NFL will have to take a stand and set rules.

Trump should dedicate his time to make sure that his family stop breaking laws than worry about what private citizens are doing. Now Kushner has been using a private email server. This after how Trump behaved regarding Clinton using a private server.

Trump wants to make sure that whatever anyone does, he can do worse.

You can't make a rule that someone has to stand for the anthem

The rules are very clear:

“The specific NFL rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the league rulebook. It states: The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.

“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition.

It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

I am not taking sides but the rules are clear.

Stick to Canada live as a blackman in America and you would see why they protest.

Who the hell is talking about blackman ? I just informed Riff that there are NFL rules. Please, stay on topic.

I understand that inherent racism exists in America and acknowledge that Police brutality exists in America.

Please, take off your blinders. You are behaving like an elephant gone mad.

Racism is a serious American problem, deal with it. I have seen it with my own eyes, I visited African American neighbourhoods in places like Schenectady, NY and saw people living in conditions 1000 times worse than third world countries, What did Obama do to help them ? Nothing, Zero, Nada.

Don't get wrapped up and fooled by the media and politicians and behave like a mad elephant. The Democrats are equally responsible for the Problems as much as the Republicans.

BTW, Americans elected Trump as their President, Hillary should also shoulder blame for running a terrible campaign. Trump is indeed fuelling the division, deal with it.

Is it funny to watch a wealthy man pretending to be a champion of the poor and have some people believing him. Some brains need to be checked. The truth is that people became fed up with mainstream politicians and voted for Trump.

Same thing happen in Guyana and they ended up with a dumb clown like Granger.

They have to live with their mistakes. At least, the Americans can vote him out after five years unlike Guyana were the thug is refusing to elect a head of GECOM in preparation for rigging, that's the difference.

Fact Check: No, the NFL Rule Book does not require players to stand during the National Anthem

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — By now, you’ve likely seen a social media post claiming the NFL rule book requires NFL players to attend the National Anthem during pregame ceremonies.

In reality, the NFL doesn’t have that requirement. In fact, it doesn’t mention the National Anthem at all in its official rule book.

This is the fake excerpt that’s been circulating social media:

Despite looking legitimate, this isn’t a rule found anywhere in the official 2017 NFL Rule Book. It’s fake.

What’s actually on pages 62 and 63 of the rule book is information about the enforcement of fouls, including backward passes, fumbles, free kicks, dead ball fouls, etc.

So what does the NFL say about the National Anthem? Nothing at all in the rule book. The words “National Anthem” are not mentioned once.

NFL Spokesman Brian McCarthy did give additional guidance back in August of 2016 when Colin Kaepernick first “took a knee” in protest. The statement to NBC’s Sports said “players are encouraged but not required to stand during the playing of the National Anthem.”

The closest mention in the NFL’s rule book might be the “Personal Messages” section found on page 23, article 8. That section prohibits players “from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration” during pregame, while on the bench or during post game interviews. However, it does not give any guidelines on how the players should present themselves during the National Anthem.

The reality is that had Kaepernick assembled a handful of his friends outside the Capitol, hardly anyone would have heard what is bothering him. While it is distasteful to not stand for the National Anthem, Kaepernick doing this provided the best opportunity to broadcast his grievance. In order to make an omelette, some eggs have to be broken.

Let me ask you a question and please answer honestly. Did you ever stand when the National Anthem was played in Guyana?

GTA

An honest question requires and honest answer. I took most opportunities to respect the National Anthem in Guyana. I am very patriotic.

The only time I failed to stand up was when it played in Cinemas. I now look back and see that as a major mistake and take full responsibility for it.

I understand both sides of the argument regarding the NFL, in the end, Trump started this and that clown Trump is playing this very carefully in pandering to his base.
