This is the best Trump can do...unless he goes the name calling route where he is in more of his element.

Unfortunately, this is not the Republican primary, where it seems his high school antics appeal to his high school supporters

This is where the big boys play, and granny whooped this sniffling slob

I would be surprised if Trump do any more debates. Rush is working overtime right now insisting that while Trump may have looked inadequate last night, his supporters don't see it that way. Tells a lot about his supporters. Rush is also ranting that Lester Holt was biased totally ignoring that Lester is a registered Republican. After the debate, Trump and his people were complaining that there was no coverage of immigration, etc. Somehow he neglected to say that had he not spent more than half his time repeated rambling over nonsense, he could have brought those tiings up. Another thing, thought granny Hillary was going to be the one drinking lots of water. Trump probably wished he can drown in that glass of water he kept drinking. He sweat as much as little Mario last night.

Committed individuals will steadfastly vote for each candidate.

The focus is on the undecided voters who will make the difference in the swing states.

Indications are that Hillary Clinton has the lead in this area which will be seen much more as time progresses.

Donald Trump seems to avoid the depth and strength of a discussion issue and is ready to divert to hyperbole and unrelated items.

Notwithstanding, election day is the one and only instance that determines the result of the November 2016 election.

Indeed a position that would be taken by the Trump supporters.

The future debates plus how the candidates' actions/activities on the campaign trails will also make adjustments on their support for the November elections.

Hillary wiped the floor with that blubbering idiot!

Hillary let some things go.  She could have handled Trump's "stop and frisk" better.

She could have pointed out that the most successful president in terms of net job creation under his 2 terms was her husband with 23 million jobs, beating Reagan.  And that Obama has seen a net increase in jobs so far (still got 4 months to go) almost 4X more than Bush II.

One thing that can well lead to a Trump victory is claims that he as a business man, can create more jobs than a "political hack" and that this "trickle down" theory is valid.  She needs to demolish that in the next debate, and than she is at home free.  Bill and Clinton INCREASED taxes yet had MORE job growth than Reagan or Bush II!

Hillary's issue is that being a woman she cannot seem to be fierce.  But with Trump being the "Frat Boy Bully" she can increase her ferocity without looking like a bytch.

Trump says nothing, but says it so convincingly that he convinces many others.

Hillary also needs to continue to hammer home the fact that Trump is possibly not paying Fed income taxes.  Even the most die hard Trump bigot will not be happy to hear that.  At the very least he will have to then release his tax returns showing that he does pay taxes and doesn't cheat on his charities.

Who won the debate depends on what the viewer was looking for. Hillary raised some good points, and outlined her goals without getting too wonky.  She also played a good "victim" to Trump's bullying, by politely waiting for him to finish his rant before responding.  This prevented the debate from spiraling into a brawl.

I didn't watch the end because I know it would have been Trump screaming "ISIS.ISIS".

SHe set him up real good...I think she held back some ammo because she realized he was getting flustered and did not want to press the issue, since he was doing a good job looking foolish. She could have made some more points, but debates are sometimes won on style and how you look and sound vs what you say.

She was calm, he was flustered,,,no need to bring the hammer out..you don't want him getting the sympathy vote

I expect Trump to be more attacking next time....but this is a chess game and Hillary about to checkmate him

From the current post-debate discussions it appears that Donald Trump will be in a swinging and furiously attacking approach.

It will, of course, be his usual mode and much to his detriment to the general public.

Trump seems to have the belief that he is at his personal meetings where his words and expectations should be absolutely his way.

She was making an effort not to be drawn into a Trump brawl, so held back.  She didn't want to fall into a Trump scrap as it is clear that he is good at fighting that game.  As Michelle said "when they go low, we ho high", and Hillary quoted that last night.

Another fear is that too many stats and facts would intimidate many viewers, who already feel that she is too bright (only in the USA is that a deficit) and cold.

She will however have to deconstruct his argument that his "trickle down" will create "millions and millions" of jobs.  She needs to remind Americans about how many jobs were created under her husband, and also refresh those who were old enough about how happy they were at the end of his term.

She can continue reminding Americans where the "trickle down" Bush left the USA, and needs to reinforce the fact that under Obama millions of jobs have been created.  Yes many of these jobs are in low end service jobs, the reason why so many feel malaise, but the fact remains that "trickle down" theory has been proven not to work.

that swinging and attacking mode could also lead to his downfall....people don't want crazy Presidents, they want folks who are calm under pressure

The reason his team wants him to be cool is because they feel that this has got him to where he is at in the polls....

Trump takes things personal....and he loves to win at all costs...so I expect him to come out swinging...I think this is what the Dems expect

Base, I was the only one who told the jokers that Trump won.

I guess that they are impressed with The Red Teletubby who has bad experience and allegedly put the nation at National Security Risk with the emails.

The moderator threw softball questions at Teletubby Hillary.

Hit them Base ! Hit them !

I heard on CNN that folks are tired of politicians who Hillary is mimicking: cool, calm, poised, answer when it's her turn, perfect in every way, too good to be true, but will never get anything done when elected.  Folks want someone different, with fire in his belly, who will get things done. Trump is gearing up for the next 2 debates.
