Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Gerald Ford, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama all did better over the course of their terms. The top returns were achieved under a pair a pair of Democrats for whom Trump has expressed disdainβBill Clinton at a 17.49% total return per year and Barack Obama at 16.25%.
Not taking away from them but both Clinton and especially Obama took the market from very depressed levels. Trump took it to new levels almost from the time he took over.

Trump inherited an economy that was taking off...Obama took over one that just went through a major crisis
Donald John Trump's numbers for his first year is simply a continuation of the progress made by Barrack Hussein Obama.
One needs to compare the numbers by the end of 2018 and on-wards to get a good indication of events under Trump.
True but many had expected a big correction. Instead, experts see a continued bull market in 2018 as a direct result of trumpβs policies. You are now seeing the broadest industrial participation in a long time. 2018 will be the year of Trump!
2018 will indeed be an interesting year for Trump.
Trump had some nasty plans but my company won. I'm starting to like the guy now.
You with a Trump ?

Trump is a rabble rouser, in the end he gets pragmatic.

Base, that is why people across the board loves Obama. Very calmly, he brought America back from the dead. We learn in physics that it takes more force to start and stop motion than it does during momentum. Trump inherited strong economical momentum from Obama. Trump's problem is that he can't help drawing embarrassing attention to himself. Like the other day in Palm Beach when he was golfing with some coast guards or National Guards. He told then that they did a wonderful job helping 16k people in Houston during the storm. That is all fine until his next words, "never happened before". He never know when to shut his puss.

He needs to start grabbing his own π!

There are no guarantees that Trump will still be President by the end of 2018.
Rush has been drumming that the reason the Russia investigation is because of a fake dossier. Today we learn that it was actually a drunken Papadopoulos bragging to an Australian diplomat in the UK. That is the news that is beginning 2018 for Trump. That is Mueller telling Trump

I am benefiting from Trump tax plan but that is not enough for me to see him favorably. In my heart of hearts, I believe that he is a selfish who will sell out anyone for himself and his family. His emptiness is too difficult to overlook.

Pragmatic ???
Well, Trump does not deal with issues in a practical way. Rather, he hurls hyperbole and weird theories plus "thumping his chest" as the ONLY person in the universe who is knowledgeable on issues.

Agree with you, Ksazma.

Indeed.

Like the other day when he claimed that he understands the new tax laws better than the smartest accountant.
