“President Donald Trump used his bully pulpit on Wednesday to attack Nordstrom, which is one of several retailers that has recently announced that it will stop selling his daughter’s clothing line.

In a tweet sent out Wednesday morning, Trump complained that Nordstrom had treated daughter Ivanka Trump “so unfairly” by dropping her fashion line from its stores.

Nordstrom isn’t alone, however, as retailers Neiman Marcus, Belk, Jet, and ShopStyle have also announced plans to discontinue sales.

Although there has been a concerted campaign called “Grab Your Wallet” to get retailers to stop selling Trump’s clothes, all retailers have claimed that their decisions to halt sales were entirely financial, and had nothing to do with politics.

Nonetheless, Trump’s tweet on Wednesday marked the first time that an American president had ever publicly chastised a private company for not doing enough to help his daughter make money.
