Turbo Knockout football tournament…“Camptown coming for Police” in tonight’s final

The curtains are set to close on the Turbo knockout football tournament tonight in exciting fashion at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground when the disciplined Police Force Football Club (PFFC) unit battle the gritty Camptown Football club in the final. Camptown Football club will be led by skipper Lezhan Lord but they will be banking on goalkeeper Richie Richardson to keep up his outstanding form within the goal.

PFFC had won the last tournament organized by Petra sports coordinating company that also organized this tournament and since the Policemen were pegged as the favourites to take the title along with the $500,000 first prize, all the pressure will be on them. Although Camptown have nothing to lose in the final being the underdogs, PFFC have an experienced squad that will be able to deal with the pressure.

Police have been in rampaging tournament form this year, playing in six straight finals, while they will be looking to add another title to their name. Their captain, Winston Tanner, stated that they are on a high after their major cup victory on Thursday night in Linden and are looking to finish with the same outcome tonight.

Meanwhile, Camptown’s captain, Lord, explained that the final is very important to his team and it is an indication of their development over the past year and they expect nothing but a victory. “We have been working hard every single day preparing for this championship match and we will be coming strong with our A-game, so Police watch out”, stated the confident Camptown’s skipper.

Co-director of Petra, Troy Mendonca stated during a press brief yesterday that all systems are in place for the hosting of the grand finale that kicks off at 21:00hrs which he believes is, “Going to be an epic event”.

The third place playoff will serve as the perfect appetizer for the main course and that game will see Pouderoyen and Grove Hi-tech matching skills for the $125,000 winning prize, while the losers will pocket $75,000. The loser of the final will receive $250,000.
