Twenty three questions put to the Minister of Agriculture

Jun 14, 2017 Letters, http://www.kaieteurnewsonline....ster-of-agriculture/

Dear Editor,
I have enough evidence to proceed by the court of law of my losses of 400 acres of land which was prepared, and the paddy did not grow. This is clear injustice. If in 48 hours I do not get a response of my losses, legal action will be taken against the Rice Board and the Agriculture Minister. I can confirm I was born and brought up with agriculture. I have great experience in agriculture from A to Z. I worked at Research Station for four years when I was fifteen years of age planting rice with my hand. I did part time education, and I am also qualified in the UK where I am qualified in pest control and many more courses where I share my skills in the UK. I asked Miss Peters several times to look into it. She said she would look into it, and put it to the board, but she does not answer my emails. I am getting suspicious if she shows any concern of my losses, or any farmer, or members of the public.

The wrong was committed because there was an overseas investment. I am forwarding my last email to you to look at, also I will still carry out an investigation of the money that was missing at Research Station. The money was lost by officials of the Research Station, and the board. This is clear evidence of no due diligence, and no democracy of the board. I am calling on the President of Guyana to take careful note of the contents of this email. I am asking the President of Guyana for permission to allow me for the Agriculture Minister to answer my email, and the questions I put to him.

I live in the UK, and I am a member of the public, and I was born in Guyana, and I have the right to share my intelligence, and thoughts from the UK, and to protect our great nation. I will ask the Agriculture Minister some questions. If he fails to respond we will proceed in court. He does not show any respect of members of the public as he has done to me in my several emails to him. I become suspicious of his skills.

These are the questions:
1] As an agriculture minister he is aware about the wrong that was committed. The paddy I bought was not fit for purpose to go on the market, and my losses I suffered of 400 acres.
2] What steps did he take, and can I see it in the record.
3] I am asking the agriculture minister what qualifications he has in agriculture.
4] What qualifications he has, where he got it, when he got it, and which school he attended.
5] How many years experience does he have in agriculture.
6] Did he ever plant rice, and what experience does he have in rice planting.
7] Can he explain how a land is cultivated to plant rice from start to end.
8] Can he explain how much it costs to cultivate an acre of land.
9] Can he explain what drugs you use for water weevil; how much drugs you use, and how you apply it.
10] Can he explain what drugs you use for caterpillar presence, how much drugs you use, and how you apply it.
11] Can he explain what type of drugs you use for Blas.
12] Can he explain what type of drugs you use for Root Worm.
13] Can he explain what type of drugs you use for Heart Worm.
14] Can he explain with GRDB 10 how you germinate the paddy.
15] Can he explain when the GRDB 10 is planted, how many days you apply the fertiliser, and drugs, and how much per acre.
16] Can he explain how many canals we have draining into the Demerara River, and where they are located.
17] Can he explain how many canals we have in Hope Estate, and where they are located.
18] Can he explain how many drainage canals drain into the Mahaicony River, and where the water comes from.
19] Can he explain how many draining canals are in Mahaicony, Ebary, MMA, and Berbice Rivers, and where they are located.
20] After he was appointed to be the agriculture minister by law, I think he is a part of the losses I suffer.
21] Did the agriculture minister approve for GRDB to sell the paddy which was not fit for purpose to go on the market.
22] There is a clause in law when someone holds responsibility, and is appointed to be the agriculture minister to allow the GRDB board, and the agriculture sector, to put the seed paddy and a product on the market which was not fit for purpose, and certified, and approved to go on the market.
23] Can he explain who approved it to go on the market.

I can confirm that I contacted several farmers throughout Guyana, East, West, North, and South. Not one of the farmers has said any glowing things about the agriculture minister. I think it is clear that the agriculture minister is not qualified for that type of job. I am not going to be investing in Guyana at this time now. I will proceed to get back my losses I suffer. Most of the emails that I sent I am thinking to put on the internet for the world to see. I come to invest because of Mr Granger who was selected by our great nation to be the President of Guyana.

I am calling on the President to take note, and look at the contents of my email.

I am asking the President to respond between and what step did the govt. take in this UK investment loss.

M. K. ADAM.
