Two soldiers shot on seawalls during birthday hang

A night of celebration with friends and family on the seawalls ended terribly for young soldier, Adrian Henry, as he was robbed and shot by armed bandits. Kaieteur News understands that the 20 year-old was walking on the seawalls alongside his friend who is also a soldier, 20-year-old Pablo King of Lethem, while his other well-wishers lagged some distance behind. According to one eyewitness, three men on two CG motorcycles appeared before the young soldiers and demanded Henry’s valuables. Up to press time last night it was unclear as to what items the armed bandits were able to relieve the two soldiers of before escaping. This newspaper understands that King sustained a gunshot wound to his right side but remains in a stable condition. As for his colleague Henry, he sustained a gunshot wound to the left lower abdomen. Henry’s condition was deemed critical and up to press time, he was still in surgery. The matter is currently being investigated.
