They could have had a better speaker to introduce Mr. Ramjattan..

As I said 100 times, Mr Khemraj Ramjattan is the BEST presidential candidate on the circuit. He has everything and all the basic ingredients to be President of Guyana. This includes a beautiful wife. There will be no Sodom and Gomarrah OP under President Ramjattan.

Pity! he is not going to have that chance to be president. he is a reject from the PPP and it will take a miracle for indians to switch their loyalty from the Party which has taken them out of the logies.

Ramjattan should apologise for quoting misleading statistics
Written by Sukrishnalall Pasha, Lecturer, University of Guyana
I WISH to congratulate the presidential candidates for attending the debate and sharing their plans with our students at the University of Guyana (UG). All of the presentations were relevant, as they directly addressed some of the common concerns of students. I was especially impressed with the presentations by Mr. Donald Ramotar and Mr. Khemraj Ramjattan, who evidently did their research before the debate.
Notwithstanding, I was extremely disappointed by Mr. Khemraj Ramjattanâs attempt to misguide the students with statistics from Transparency International and the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Competitiveness Report. According to Mr. Ramjattan, Guyana is either ranked last or second to last in the world with regards to corruption, based on those reports. However, the most current data suggest otherwise. The table below provides the countryâs ranking as it relates to corruption.
Source:
Guyanaâs Corruption Ranking
World Economic Forum (WEF), The Global Competitiveness Report 2010-2011.
In the survey of businesses, only 15.3 per cent indicated that corruption is an impediment for doing business in Guyana. This means that approximately 74.7 per cent disagree with the view that corruption is a major issue.
There were no data regarding
Transparency International, the Global Coalition against corruption 2010
Corruption perception index: rank 116 out of 178 countries
Global Corruption Report 2009: Corruption and the Private Sector
Corruption Perception Index 2008: rank 128 out of 180 countries
In his presentation, Mr. Ramjattan came over as one who had his âfactsâ correct, or a person who did his research. Further, when he presented the data to the students, he never displayed any uncertainty about the statistics quoted, obviously to convince the audience that his data were reliable.
My questions, therefore, are:
1. What is the motive for misquoting the statistics from Transparency International and the WEF?
2. Can we trust the AFC as a party to be honest given this clear and deliberate attempt to mislead the students of the University of Guyana in the interest of gaining a few votes?
If, for some reason, it was a mistake on the part of Mr. Ramjattan to claim that Guyana is the most corrupt country in the world, I believe that decency should dictate that he sets the records straight by citing the correct statistics.

There is no need to apologize for any statistics. The data are three years old but still relevant.

Ramjattan should fire those jokers who mislead him.

Bookman...you should apologize to the nation for supporting blindly the party of WikiLeaks fame and for killing its own Minister. Don't fuss over a minor data issue. Think about the murder of 500+ Guyanese without trial and things like the failure to produce a forensic lab. Think about NIS that sees its first deficit under PPP. Why don't you get some NIS data for Ramotar so they talk how they can fix it rather than cuss down and backball in the most lewd manner. But what can we expect from you Bookman...you support the Sodom and Gomarrah OP.

New data supersede old data. Dialectical, factual and material changes.

Bookman you are worrying about the wrong dilectics...think about the damaging path dependence and dialectcs Cussbird has put in place. Think whether Ramotar can overcome the punitive path dependence.

Not really a social media guy, but I'm sending directly to as many as I can since this will likely not be broadcast on Hen See Hen.

TK, please appreciate Bookman's stance. He is marching with the PPP to keep the red flag flying. Nothing more, nothing less. For Bookman, the PPP is greater than the sum of its parts...oops, leaders.
Bookman is taking the long view, TK.

No...I have too much to say...but dem bais plan to only give me 15 mins at the public meetings. I will tell the people about the narco-economics strategy that backfired and killed a Minister and family. Rama...are you part of the OP Sodom and Gomarrah?

My first time hearing Ramjattan and I must concede that he is a good speaker and very presidential.
However I will note that he himself was part of the cabal and contributed to the corruption and is only now in opposition because he did not become the Sultan.

I don't know that. you are wrong about guyana has a narco stategy. Drugs are no longer being transhipped from Guyana to the US. One can say a lot in fifteen minutes. If that all you are going to say then your party is doomed to failure. If you attacked the PPP the Indians will rally more behind them. You see, they are the PPP. There are only 5% of indians who are against the PPP not more , not less.

It's a moot point.

Thanks for your kind remarks. He was never part of the cabal and their corruption. He was thrown out because Jagdeo lied to Janet that Prakash is the one leaking info to the USA when the records now show that it was one now deeemd as Miss Wikileaks. Open your eyes to the corruption and nepotism. Khemraj mentioned how the present cabal is greedy. I know how avaricious these PPP ministers and decision makers can be. "Transportation" cost can be as high as 30%.
Sash Sawh fought against these very things that were happening under Burnham. He paid a very high price. Read/ Listen to his brother-in-law whose comments were posted recently.
Have a great day.
