MOTP, Georgetown, Guyana – (January 6, 2016) United States Ambassador to Guyana, Perry Holloway, speaking following a courtesy call on President David Granger at the Ministry of the Presidency, this morning, said, "I think relations between our two countries are fantastic right now."

The Ambassador's visit is his first since the beginning of the new year and as such he took the opportunity to wish the President and the People of Guyana a productive 2016. He also expressed hopes for continued fruitful relations between the two nations.

Fantastic relations between Guyana and the United States doesn't mean that Guyanese are better at home.Tell us about a fantastic economic plan and job creation for the working class. Tell us about a strategic plan to reduce crimes, etc. The coalition is getting bad rating so far that anything such as foreign relation with the three (ABC) musketeers will come in handy to boost the government failures and embarrassment. This doesn't amused me the least.

Relations between Guyana and the USA has always been good, minus the overthrow of Cheddi Jagan.

It is important to maintain good relations with the USA.

It was also good under the PPP until Priya flounced up her skirt in front of the US ambassador and created some bad blood. It actually turned out to be a very big mistake that cost PPP the election.

PPP has to live and learn. Mistakes cost them Elections twice. It must never happen again.

Yuji, your comment about Priya is in bad taste. First, she never flounced up her shirt infront of no one. Secondly, she's a wife, mother and daughter to someone to be degraded like that. Third, what she did was excellent to tell the American not to interfere in Guyana internal affairs. Lastly, you know that was not the reason that the PPP lost the election. The same American that you praising are the ones that are responsible for the election result. You shouldn't be doing this to the party you pretend to be supported. Shame on you!

The PPP Commies never liked the US except when they were stretching out their hands for aid money to tief.

And when they wanted President Jimmy Carter to intervene and pressure President Desmond Hoyte to waive some aspects of the electoral laws.

As we saw before the May 11 elections, the PPP resurrected its Cold War arguments against the US.

As yuji says, the PPP must learn from its mistakes.

Bhai Cobra,

I am sorry that you feel that way.

I love the USA, I travel to the USA, I love America's constitution, I love the freedom of expression in America, love American Clothes and technology.

Ninety Nine (99) Percent of my relatives live in America and are proud American citizens.

My political Hero Bill Clinton is American.

As for Priya, I did not mean to say that she literally flounced her skirt, it is a Guyanese saying. She messed up in a diplomatic environment and yes, in my opinion, it cost the PPP the election. I defended attacks on Priya right here in GNI when she was attacked because of her weight and those criticizing her because as Minister of Education, she did a fine job.

PPP made mistakes from a diplomatic standpoint with the USA.

I am a firm PPP supporter but I call a spade a spade.

I am very sorry that you feel that way but we all have a right to express our opinions.

Why don't you tell us what the PPP was doing?   You scream that they did better, yet are completely unable to tell us why.
