US lashes 'Israel comment' on John Kerry

The US has condemned as "offensive" reported comments by Israel's defence minister about Secretary of State John Kerry's Middle East peace initiative.

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the alleged comments by Moshe Yaalon were "inappropriate" given America's support to Israel's security.

Her statement was a rare rebuke to America's close ally in the region.

Mr Yaalon was earlier quoted as saying Mr Kerry was acting out of "misplaced obsession and messianic fervour".

Mr.TI pity the fool

This is really surprising of Israel. Kerry is not jewish but Christian. The jews never liked Jesus the Messiah. So referring to Kerry as messianic is quite an insult not short of being of a racial nature.
