Bloomberg News by Angela Greiling Keane, Andrew Mayeda

Abolitionist Harriet Tubman will appear on front of the $20 bill, replacing former President Andrew Jackson and becoming the first woman featured on U.S. paper currency in modern times, a Treasury official said, in a design overhaul that will leave Alexander Hamilton on the $10 note.

The decision is the latest chapter in a 10-month-old controversy that erupted after Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew tried to address gender imbalance on U.S. currency notes. He opened up the selection process to the public just as the current face on the $10 bill was enjoying a resurgence in popularity, and outrage ensued.

Trump is going to have a more difficult time making America great again. Now he has to redesign the 20 dollar bill and remove that dark skin woman from it.

I can see middle America being enraged by this news.

Sshhhhh!!  He wouldn't notice.  He doesn't use small change.  That is why they didn't put her on one of the big bills!!

Good news and progress, though slower, to address equality of women and men.

This will be further evidence that Obama hates whites, and that there is no longer any room for white men in the USA any more.

Poor Andrew Jackson must be turning in his grave!  Yugi might have to change his tune to, "Money talks and Andrew walks!"

The Treasury should have been fair.  They should have asked, "What would Granger do?"  The simple answer is - Put Andrew and Harriet side by side on the $20 bill.  This way everyone is happy.  And it would be like having Unity Government!!

Why would Harriet be insulted by being placed in the same context of that racist Andrew Jackson. He was instrumental for he misery to native peoples more than any other President...

Why are you taking what I said completely out of context?

What more morbid context would you have by placing in memorium and anti slavery freedom fighter and a racist whose actions were clearly genocidal?

the context is there minus the "a". That at is the beauty of english...some 70 percent redundant.

The context is there? I thought this was a new word I never heard of. Some 70% redundant? Why bother to write? It's all 70% redundant garbage.

It is more than "there". You would only think it a new words since you are in the habit of using your own all the time. You do not get it both ways...using the vernacular and pretending to be pedantic about spelling. It is what fools do. I speak 3 languages fluently and I am quite sure grammar and syntax is the least of my problem. You on the other hand need a crutch....the usual ones of fools

Creolese is his native language. He is still trying to get a grasp of standard English.  He blames Burnham for this.
