The U.S. Embassy, British High Commission and Canadian High Commission today congratulated the Guyanese people on the democratic process that they observed in yesterday’s local government elections.
In a statement, they said “We wish to reiterate our strong and considered opinion that the voting and counting processes in the Guyanese local government elections were free, fair, and credible. Our diplomatic observer teams, consisting of some ninety observers spread throughout nine regions, found nothing to question the integrity or credibility of the voting process.

“The Guyana Elections Commission has once again done a credible job in ensuring that this critical election day phase of the process was free and fair. We would like to congratulate Chairman Dr. Steve Surujbally, Chief Elections Officer Keith Lowenfield, and the Commissioners and staff of the Guyana Elections Commission for their successful organization of these polls.”

They can count up to 20 using their feet. I bet the team can manage a two car parade without any difficulty. LGE IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. VERY FEW GUYANESE CARE ABOUT LGE.

I think Dr Steve Surujbally has just conducted his last set of elections. He will tender his resignation as GECOM Chairman before preparations begin for the 2020 general elections. Keith Lowenfield will most likely succeed Dr Surujbally. Dem PPP folks nah like Surujbally suh dem go dance and knack nagara drum when he gone.

You are dealing with the lowest of low IQ people.  Don't mind them.

I hear you. Do the leaders really hear what the people have to say? Whether you like it or not, the central leader always has the final word. Can you spell dictatorship?

But will the PPP dance and knack nagara drum if Keith Lowenfield replaces Steve Surujbally, or will they see him as anadda  blackman, if results don't favour the PPP ?

If the people of Guyana is to go forward in a progressive manner, equally for all.  The people have to be taught that their individual voice counts and they have a responsibility to voice their concerns about affairs, that affects their lives. Thus LGE is very important.

Agreed. Guyanese in many ways are behind the times.  They have been slaves of the main political parties.  They have forgotten their rights and their ability to think.

I believe he did explain himself well. Mr Surujballi was accused by the PPP of rigging for the APNU ( no motivations given ) and many of their supporters still shout that mantra. With Mr Lowenfield will provide them with a motive ( if he succeeded Mr Surujballi). It will be the dog whistle that brutish black man is  committing deliberate electoral fraud because he is black.

That is only because you are exceptional and can read between peoples' confusion. Tola is a very confused person seemingly too preoccupied with trying to look like a caring person. Now he may still be a caring person but for sure his writing is all over the place.
