In fact the same month that the PPP left office Guysuco was in such a mess that it couldn't meet payroll or pay its suppliers.

Caribj, the Sugar industry is state run, all it's revenues accrue to the state.  We also know that Sugar is loss-making but a forex earner, as such, it will not cover it's costs on a like-for-like currency basis.  This is no secret, so even if equivalent local currency revenues are credited to the accounts, it will still be short.  This has been the case for a very long time, no secret there either!

So go back and figure what you talking before you talk!!

Guysuco is a mess, thanks to the PPP.  So don't go on as if it was a success until the PPP left.

Guymine also earned forex, but yet you didn't object when the PPP got rid of it as they tired of underwriting its losses.  Even as over 3000 workers lost their jobs.

My question to you is whether GuySICKO would find a buyer, aside from those who will want to turn its lands into residential developments.

Guymine economics was very different from Guysuco!  Guymine's operating costs had a large import element. Guysuco has large domestic component.  Guymine needed an external "consumer" to own and integrate in their value chain.  I think the two industries have very different dynamics.  It makes no sense for the PPP to let Guymine go under if it's a net forex earner.  But your thinking sees it all in terms of race.  Race base politics, race base economic decisons, race base everything has led to the destruction of Guyana.

Baseman will always try to be objective with he PNC and support good decisions as warranted.
