Too short. They need to be reminded every day for the rest of their lives what they did to that poor girl. Normally I don't advocate brutality but in this case they each need to have the same thing done to them with the iron rod.

They have free apps available to installed on phones in India that you can press to alert police if you're in danger of rape of sexual abuse. Police usually reach you within 3-5 minutes. They can also track your movement and apprehend the perpetrator(s).

India has been one of the worse places form women on the planet. This Modi administration has been the first to enforce the laws even if in a disorganized way

Modi seems to be doing a lot for the poorer people. Indian chap here was telling me about the improvement in the railway system.

He has a project to stop the shitting on tracks. He promised in the next five years every indian will have a toilet. Presently almost half has never seen a toilet. The remarkable tolerance for filth is seen in the lack of sewer systems in some city planning. Imagine living in close quarters by the millions and no toilet. The chinese are no different. They are also on track to regularize the areas where defecation is allowed. Their kids squat anywhere. They even have pants designed with special pull apart seams for a random squat.

The issue is not so much the toilets, but running water.  I was involved in a project to build 63 toilets in a village.  The problem here was just not enough water ready to flush so many people abandoned and went back to the bushes.

Open pit latrines like we had/have in Guyana are illegal due to infanticide so the toilets must carry a narrow duck-neck like you have here.  These require water!

It is tough for women in some respects, but it's also better in some respects. It's not all bad. I met several returning families when I lived there and the women said they enjoyed a better life there.

However, overall it's a tougher life for most, not necessarily because of abuse or rights, just general hardship!
