Uitvlugt Warriors and Stewartville unstoppable
Uitvlugt Warriors thumped Beavers FC 4-0, while neighbours Stewartville defeated Wales United 2-0 as the teams from the West Demerara blanked their West Bank rivals when play in the STAG sponsored West Demerara Football Association Senior league continued on Sunday last at the Den Amstel Community Center ground.

Uitvlugt were gifted the perfect goal when Beavers scored against themselves to break the deadlock on 34 minutes and it set the tone for the Uitvlugt team to canter to a big win.

Before the end of the first half the lead was doubled with a Kevin Duke 38th minute goal.

Even though enjoying the lead, Uitvlugt was made to work hard as Beavers stood firm for lengthy periods but once they buckled, it allowed Uitvlugt to score quick goals.

That was exactly how the third and fourth goals came.

Kevon Duke was on target in the 70th minute to increase the lead to 3-0 and one minute later the deal was sealed when Cosper Evan added his name to the score sheet to make it an unassailable 4-0 lead and eventual win.

Even though Uitvlugt lost Jamaal Petty in the 56th minute as a result of his second yellow card, the first issued in the 16th minute, Beavers were not able to make the one man advantage work in their favour.

The opening match saw Stewartville on account of two first half goals romping to a 2-0 win over Wales United.

Paul Hector it was who scored in the 22nd minute and two minutes before half time three points were sealed with Orette Stephenson’s goal.
