‘We should play unbeaten in Florida’ – Nat U-15 Football Coach

By Sean Devers in Trinidad

The Guyana U-15 football team departs Trinidad this morning to participate in the CONCACAF U-15 Championship which starts tomorrow in Florida to compete in Group F with St Lucia, St Kitts and Suriname.
The young Guyanese prepared with a three-game series here and Head Coach Brian Joseph feels his charges had learnt a lot from their time in Trinidad and that they would play unbeaten in the USA.
“We were able to get match practice outside of Guyana in an environment which was new to us and against teams with different styles of play,” said Joseph.
Joseph informed that the two main areas his team needs to improve in was defending set pieces and working on developing mental toughness.
“We are pretty confident that we will play unbeaten in this group but I don’t really know which team will be our biggest challenge. We are familiar with Suriname but don’t know much about St Kitts or St Lucia,” Joseph stated.
The team will spend two hours in transit in Panama before going to Florida and Skipper Josiah Braithwaite said his team had learnt a lot on this trip especially when they played the Trinidad Secondary School under 20s Champions Naparima Collage and is eagerly looking for to the matches in Florida.
