“We won’t let you down” – newly commissioned officers assure Commander-in-Chief

Newly commissioned officers of the Disciplined Services have assured the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Donald Ramotar that his charge for them to uphold integrity in the conduct of their duties, has not fallen on deaf ears.

The assurance came from best graduating student of the Standard Officers Course # 44 Anthony Lyttle after the officers received their instruments of Commission and Warrants from the Commander-in-Chief at the Office of the President.

The 15 Officers from the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), the Guyana Police Force (GPF) and the Guyana Fire Service (GFS) were yesterday presented with Badges of Ranks from the President during a commissioning parade at Base Camp Ayanganna after completing the ten- month training course at the Colonel Ulric Pilgrim Training School (CUPTS).

In the presence of the army’s Chief of Staff Gary Best and senior officers in the force, officer Lyttle reminded the President of his charge for soldiers to be outstanding and not compromising and, assured him that his advice has been heeded.

“We will work honestly and diligently as we strive to ensure that our careers are fruitful and that we are capable of defending those bright economic prospects that the future holds for our country Guyana. Your Excellency, we will not let you down,” officer Lyttle assured.

Yesterday, the Commander- in- Chief had told the officers that the building of integrity and professionalism will be the key element of Government’s policy towards the disciplined services with professionalism of the military paramount.

It doesn't look like the Commissioned Oficers are reflective of the faces of the Nation. Is there a reason for this?

Bill Ram...This maybe the first time you and I are in total agreement. Big Grin

Ramotar dressing like if he going to the market does not command or earn any respect from teh GDF nor the citizens of Guyana.
