Further, the 'creative' nonsense by the Chief Justice (ag.) about need to cite "reasons" for rejecting Jagdeo's provocative lists will not pass muster in the CCJ or any serious Court of Appeals.

However, I cannot stress strongly enough my horror at the President's tone deaf pick which is contrary to the SPIRIT of the agreements reached regarding GECOM and the conduct of Free and Fair elections in Guyana.

I agree.

This is why I believe Granger painted himself into a corner and, with time running out, made a terrible pick from a very very thin, self-imposed bench following the [expected?] poor legal 'advice' of his Attorney General.

Jagdeo was happy with Burnham's constitution so didn't change it. The PPP frauds on GNI developed 20 excuses why the Burnham constitution during the PPP era was perfectly fine. Jagdeo himself boasted that Guyana had the best constitution in the Caribbean.

Here is the deal. Some agreement crafted by Carter isn't part of the constitution.  That is unless it was incorporated into the constitution, and evidence is that it wasn't.

Granger defied the spirit of what is agreed under the Carter arrangement.  But if he didn't defy the constitution then the PPP has no grounds to scream.

So Jagdeo can scream that he doesn't care if Guyana goes back to the 60s. If that is his thinking his support base will be quite stupid to let him do this.

Granger isn't interested in Guyana post 2020. He is just a passive aggressive man who cannot function working with people who he doesn't trust. And he doesn't trust anyone who might think in a manner that contradicts his.

Two questions.

Did the PPP government since coming to office in 1992 ever had at least 67% of the seats in the National Assembly which is needed to amend the Constitution?

Didn't Jagdeo make minor changes to the Constitution where he was able to do so thereby improving on some its elements?
