Key diplomats on Friday afternoon welcomed the appointment of retired Justice Claudette Singh as the new Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM).

British High Commissioner Greg Quinn tweeted, “I welcome this extremely positive development. I look forward to meeting the new GECOM chair. All relevant actors are to be congratulated on this agreement. #Guyana”.

Canadian High Commissioner to Guyana, Lilian Chatterjee tweeted “Progress for the citizens of Guyana!”

United States embassy in Guyana in a Facebook post stated, “We commend Guyana’s leadership for agreement on an Elections Commission Chairperson, in compliance with the Caribbean Court of Justice ruling. We encourage continued collaboration toward free and fair elections.”

My predictions:

1. Ms Singh will support the call for H2H registration and a new voter's list

2. The Opposition will support the coalition with a 2/3 parliament majority to extend parliament set the date for election.

3. The election date will be early 2020...with support from the PPP.

If she supports H2H registration, she will be branded as bias towards the PNC.

Claudette Singh (Former Judge ) can view the laws and conclude if H2H is Legal for Free, Fair and Credible Elections.

The western diplomats have nothing to do with Granger selection of Claudette Singh. The western diplomats have a resonating voice to echos that Guyana's leader's mush abides by CCJ ruling and the constitution to end a prolonged crisis. Granger runs out of options to delay the election any further, and the western diplomats laud him for his actions. ABC doesn't care who he chose, but give a hoot when he chose it.
