Muslim teachings are that the soul never dies and will never die even if the person associated with that soul ends up in hell.

According to Muslim teachings, each person has their own soul. This is a departure from Hindu teachings were different bodies share the same soul during different times. Back to Muslim teachings, each new born person is given a soul which continues to live after they pave passed on. At some point in the future, everyone will be resurrected with their souls restored to them. There is a final judgment where some are awarded heaven while some are sentenced to hell. Recipient to both of these abodes will remain there along with their souls.

Where/what is the reservoir of souls? Is there a one to one match up? If so, what is the state of the souls that are waiting for bodies?

I am not sure of the first question although ponders on the last question may help answer the first. According to Muslim teachings, there is one soul to each body. That is why Muslims don't believe that newborns inherit any deeds of people already passed on. The souls of passed on people are held in waiting until resurrection and final judgement but goes through various realizations while in waiting. That said, maybe the reservoir is thin air. In a religious sense, the body is physical while the soul spiritual so perhaps it needs no space to exist.

I think, soul travels through all of humanity. How else, can there be judgement. Judgement is not on a person but what the soul does in the travels. Bhuddah may have it correct.

Who says there is judgement?

There has to be a source. Is the source infinite or is there a finite number of souls that match up with a finite number of bodies? Is a soul created when a body is created or is it in waiting?

A

Speaking from an Islamic viewpoint, the source of all bodies and souls is God the creator. Muslim teachings do not support an initial first 6 days of creation but one where God never stopped creating and will continue to create until He decides to put an end to the world. That said, each soul is created when the body is created but does not die when the body dies although some teachings have the soul created at the beginning of time and is in waiting. However, because the soul is a spirit, it does not require time and space as the body does. Muslins don't believe that any person should pay for the sins of a previously living person and since from a religious standpoint the soul is the final destiny it wouldn't be fair for a worldly body to bear the burden of a previously worldly body.

What if the soul is simply an unknown form of energy powered by the cosmos?

Which, of course, returns to its source?

It could very well be. I was just giving the Muslim viewpoint which may be the viewpoint of all Abrahamic faiths except that Muslims believe in a sinless soul only carrying the consequences of the body's actions that it is placed in.

I'm exploring the concept I stated as the foundation for a sci-fi novel.

Then that may be above my pay grade.

Banna, if that was what he took in order to come up with the first hydro electric plant (niagara falls) the power used in electric vehicles, then erb should never have been illegal . He was quite brilliant (not unlike yours truly)

Heaven and hell did not co exist with Allah / Ishwar. When were they created? Before or after he created Earth and /or man?

Mitwah

It had to be when earth was created so was heaven and hell for it is here on earth they are both found.

The White House for instance right now can be viewed as hell.

Me sitting back chillin with flowers on my piano and tulips on my organ would be considered heaven.

The hydroelectric power plant on the U.S side of the border is indeed the first large scale project built in 1881. The development now known as the Niagara Falls Hydroelectric Power was built in 1895.

The first hydropower project was built at Northumberland, Cragside in 1878 in England.

One of the earliest periods on record for the use of water power was about 200 BC in China.
