Closing down the City for no reason.
Supposed they were living in Canada or Minnesota, they would have wanted the entire winter off.

They playing it safe
I'm snowed in. Just woke up and will ask the kids nearby to shovel.

They playing the fool.
There is not much snow outside to close schools. I see children go to school in worst condition than that.
I agree with Chief. Poor judgement
Now today schools are open when it should be closed.
The mayor was ill advised
the same happened with NYCHA
I was able to open our Senior Center yesterday
We have more than 80 seniors at our Center yesterday but will be closed today to be on the safe side for my seniors
In '77-'81, my dad and I walked to work in nearby Long Island City in 1+' snow and enjoyed the walk. Nothing was closed in those days.

People these days I tell you. If it was cold and snowing, I could see the reason for closing. The municipalities need to be proactive...keep the plows going.
In T.0 we would have 4 inches of snow still buses run, people walk, drive, slide..life goes on.

In the early '80s I was there a lot at in-laws in 1-2' snow and ice, and life went on as usual. People dressed like Eskimos and went about their business.

My son came home at 10 last night and did it.
A few weeks ago I took a ten hour bus ride North of Toronto to visit my daughter and grandaughter in a gold mining town called Kirkland Lake. The roads are cleared but that is it. Even though it is quite hilly folk there leave snow and ice on the sidewalks...it is just covered with sand and they wait for spring to melt it all. Again life goes on there.
