If the PPP won a snap election or a full-term election in 2016? This is a serious question considering the desperate intent the opposition has to steal power by all means necessary. Are we going to see more riots in PNC/AFC strongholds like Linden and Agricola? Are we going to see more educational institutions burn to ashes? In an event where political orchestrated riots has taken place; the innocent citizens suffer the most by loss of lives, destruction of private and public properties, loss of work and affect children from attending schools. This reality was evident in the PNC days that repeated itself not so long ago. What makes your think it will not happen again?

As bad as the the PPP is and as badly as we need reform, Guyanese will give the PPP a majority because the opposition has not made any positive contribution to Guyana.

The opposition is useless and can only talk and talk is cheap.

Will the PNC unleash it terror gangs ? Yes, they have proven this again and again.

Under any fair and open election, the PPP will always win with a comfortable majority; whether by proportional representation or first-past-the-post.

The only fault the PPP has is uncle Donald dhall belly, and the man started to throw his weight around......meaning he's losing it like ice-cream melting on a hot summer day.    Nehru, come in!

Bhai I will stay away from this one since Agricolla is mentioned cause another senior member of KFC had a big role there.

Rapid weight losses is a serious business.

I don't know if you got the news but the PPP did NOT win with a majority in 2011.   I know that the PPP doesn't acknowledge this fact but the reality is the PPP leads a MINORITY govt.  It is therefore incumbent upon them to host the local govt elections, figure out how to work with the opposition and quit acting spoilt brats. 51% of the voters don't want the PPP.

Like it or not, they hold the executive power.

Why didn't they win with a comfortable majority n 2011? Was the election not free and fair?

PPP won the elections with the majority of votes.

It is well known that none of the political parties in Guyana won more than fifty percent of the votes.

PPP won with a comfortable majority of votes, well ahead of the PNC-APNU, the runner-up.

No it isn't the AFC and APNU ganging up.  Its that MORE people voted for them collectively and the PPP won LESS than 50% so is a MINORITY party.

Indeed by most logics it should be in the opposition, because virtually EVERY country with a parliamentary system allows post election alliances where no single party wins controls parliament.  You bet the AFC would have joined APNU.

Yugi, welcome "home" bhai.  I'm happy to see you turn away from loser ASSJ.  We all know the PPP is lacking and needs to shape up.  But the PNC is a wolfe trying to pretend to be a sheep.  The PNC power brokers want nothing less than a re-establishment of the old order.

Both of you are wrong, the PPP will win the plurality but it will never win the majority and yes the PPP is better than the PNC by far.

And exactly which point you are arguing with.

I once knew an AFC insider who ended every irrational statement with "Duhhh".

The PNC is rotten and stinking. Carl Greenidge is still around, he is Guyana's most rotten politician.

Baseman went thru all your thoughts back in 2011 and concluded the PPP is the best alternative for Guyana.  ASSJ use to cuss me down for being critical of the PPP.  And bear in mind, my criticisms were measured and pointed.
