The PPP are a pack of thieves, yet despite this there are free and fair elections as validated by international organisations. However, many Blacks feel alienated; can the PPP ever gain the confidence of Afro Guyanese?

The PNC were in the power for 28 years but the only free and fair elections they allowed, they lost. Does the population trust them enough to vote them into power, and will they ever be able to convice enough Indos that they have changed?

The AFC said they were a different party, however, they have put themselves in a compromising position now, but instead of addressing the issue(s) at the core of the controversy, they are making general statements. Can the population trust them to be the government of Gy?

Is there room for another political party based on honesty and integrity, things sourly lacking in Guyana politics?

APNU swallow up all the small parties and they're hoping to eat up the AFC in the process. We are back to basic with the two major parties, PPP and APNU. It is rumored that Gerhard and friends are forming a new party that has all the good ingredients you mention above. This guy invented a wooden computer and he's also an empty barrel donor. Do you trust him?

Rev: All politicians are full of shit---and most are dishonest, crooked and corrupt ?

Rev: As long as Guyana is ruled by the PPP, 90% of Afro Guyanese will feel alienated and disenfranchised---afros would prefer to starve, eat grass, drink filthy water and live in squalor if that means they are led by a Hughes, Trotman or Granger.

Rev: Trust is like virginity---once you lose it---you never get it back---in the 2011 election 48.6% of the voters voted for the PPP and 10.3% voted for the AFC---add those and you get nearly 59% of the voters did not trust APNU/PNC. Regarding indos---the dirty PNC Indians will always despise the PPP and support the PNC---thankfully they are a tiny minority.

Rev: The AFC has been exposed---they are just another bunch of shameless politicians---hustlers---corrupt---conniving---slimy---dishonest, etc, etc. They'll be bigger thieves than the PPP politicians.

Rev: No! By the way, honest and integrity ought not be placed in the same sentence with politics and politicians.

Please use the quoting tools if you are going to answer piecemeal.

Are you making a statement or responding to the gentleman with another question. If a statement what information does the generalization dispense except your nihilism. Life does have value, politicians can be honest and morality does have a place. We are not Hobbesian barbarians doomed to submit to the despotic authoritarian PPP regency.

Indeed africans are distrustful of the PPP and with good cause. It is their country as any other and the PPP treats them as outcasts. They fabricate the mythology that Africans are unfit to rule by emphasizing histories decades old where Indians suffered while de-emphasizing the fact that the dictators foot stood on the faces of all equally.  Yes black people trust their own no less than Indians do because the major parties fail to make merit the basis for participating in the government. The PPP is a kith and kin inc.

I presume you mean "clean" indians are PPP Indians. What a sad metaphor. I wonder if you realize the status of clean and unclean are a regressive to a horrific past where sudras, our fore parents were deemed so by birth. In this recasting you do the same.

These men and women who chose not to abide by your clean vs dirty metaphor have actually liberated themselves from a backward paradigm. They chose to reject the pervasive corruption in the PPP for a chance to make a difference. You know the dog has mange, insist it is quite a mangy brute but seeks no medical intervention. You prefer to live in mange than hope for a cure.

Politicians are like any man or woman in any profession. They will do what the system lets them do. In this case the system lets the PPP assume autocratic powers and the take it gleefully. Unchecked Power is always a lure to corrupt practices and the PPP gleefully take that path. It does not mean we will excuse them as merely being politicians. That is patently silly.

Politricks and others would have us forget that the people of Guyana voted for the PPP to be in power despite years of unproven charges of massive corruption. Now we find out that members of the AFC fled to the PNC after massive corruption was revealed against Nigel and Ramjattan.  Progress have been stymied by the afc/pnc coalition, but again the people of Guyana will decide if they made a mistake in 2011 by giving more power to the PNC/AFC coalition to disrupt national projects.

The AFC is rotten at it's very core. The stench became unbearable as it's own members fled as they failed to fight corruption within their own party.

Mr Nagamootoo is not "nothing". He is a great MP. Those of us living in Guyana can see him in action. He played a tremendous role in returning Guyana to democracy in 2011. Mr Nagamootoo is a great man. You are on the other hand a ...
