Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee said the recent upsurge in criminal attacks against Chinese businesses have coincided with a “politically inspired and orchestrated campaign by known opposition elements”.

In a statement on Wednesday, Rohee said his ministry has joined the Private Sector Commission (PSC), its Guyana/China Business Council (GCBC) in particular; and the Chinese community in general in expressing deep concern over persistent robberies on business places owned by Chinese nationals, many of whom are naturalised Guyanese.
