I'm not surprised by this gesture at all. The Guyanese hospitality and care for each other was always there regardless of Race religion or creed.
Guyanese overseas cannot post barrels because of Covid 19

And if you believe the words " nincompoop" breaks the rules... the other poster used it.

The Guyanese people. This appears to be a concerted effort by one and all. Not quite sure if the GDF got a program going as well but everybody chipping in. Be it in by manpower or donation it's good to see the above pics.
Of course some jackasses may want to use this as political leverage which is not rite at all under the circumstances.

Django, I have no time for your pettiness. I stand by what I said " business owners donate the hampers. and this is how it is done below ...
Food for the poor among the other organization will call up the businesses for donation, they send their vehicles for the pick up. I know this because they reach out to us and my associates.
Regarding your last sentence about injustice. I leave this for low minded people to think that way ( I don't think you are one). When I posted the pictures, NOT once did i think it reflects who is in government. I merely posted poor lively hood of some Guyanese and non of us knew of this. Note: the pictures has Indians and Afro.
I am not sure what offends you.
The current political crisis should offend you more, but you are silent. Guyana has bigger problems due to the current political impasse that affects my business and thousands of PNC supporters are speaking out.

While it is perfectly fine to have strong and differing views, Guyana is the place from where we all emigrated to other countries.
Indeed, we should recognize and be positive about the land.
To all the negative posters. My post has nothing to do with who is giving out hampers. I posted the pictures to highlite the poor living conditions of some Guyanese.
I even mention below one of my pictures, " hopefully the covaid brings some good.

Actually in Business there are always unforeseen circumstances , many are affected in NA currently ,i don't hear loud cries , we ride it out.

The only government who said they are not providing for their people is Granger.
Govt cannot provide jobs ; emphasis is on self-employment â Granger

One year on after an election campaign promise to create thousands of jobs, President David Granger said it is not governmentâs responsibility to do so.

Millionaire, maybe you can sign that song... everyone is not so fortunate. Some business is in the city that pays 5 -10 G rent per month and was force to closed. YOU should know, when a dollar is lost, its lost ... you cannot replace that dollar.

These conditions existed well before 2015. These are left over ills of the PPP era. To think after five years, the PNC raided the treasury and fatten themselves leaving these on their misery speaks for the sad state of Guyanese civic society. The choice is always the lesser of two evils.
Guyana is sunk, oil will not save it. The place needs a new set of people with human values. The politics of Guyana mold it into a non-caring selfish society where everyone tries to get the better of the other as a mark of success!
It's a pity the Government of Guyana doesn't seem fit to help their people in distress.
It's great seeing everyone regardless of who they are, pull together for the good of all. Guyana has good people, the world has good people, it's too bad the small percentage of riff raff (not you Ray) folk screw things up for everyone.
