  • It is the only political organization (a coalition) that can wipe away the lack of transparency of governance.
  • Fix the politics and you fix investment and economic growth, and APNU/AFC is in a different world from the PPP.
  • Bring the races together and the potential of the people can be better realized. APNU/AFC can do this. The PPP/C cannot bring the races together and in fact feeds on racial fear that it is stoking at the altar of keeping power to prevent investigations and prosecutions after they leave office.

The last is the most important point.  Guyana is defined by ethnic insecurity, and to the extent that the constituent parts are forced to engage each other it will give confidence that ethnicity will stop defining opportunity to the extent that it has over the past 50 years.\

The constituent parts will have to engage and to be satisfied with this engagement or else the coalition gov't collapses.

Now as to the rest of the transparency, etc.  APNU and maybe even the AFC will eventually have all the capacity to be corrupt and cliquish as the PPP is.  Guyanese will have to learn to hold their gov't accountable.  To the extent that ethnic insecurity ceases to be dominant in Guyanese politics means that we develop a large swing vote, which will force the gov'ts to cease taking their bases for granted.

Lard Bai, Guyana's problems/solutions lie in your three bullet points.  Holy cow, why did someone not think of it.  It takes a lil QC Einstein to conjure up the "law of irrelevance".

Fixed crime in Georgetown AND EVERYTHING WILL TURN AROUND in a hurry.

Races of people seldom ever come together as one. However, it is important that any government governs for all the people. A government is the guardian of all the pillars of society. That is something an East Indian lead government will NEVER comprehend-dey juss doan know how to govern. Victimization of the opposition is never a good policy. They will return and bite you in the azz.

That is the fear of the PPP East Indians.

It is a government's job to keep the judiciary independent and monitor their pronouncements upon all citizens. For 65 years, both PNC and PPP attacked and coerce that institution.

I look forward to the change. But this time around, I trust society guides their paths.
