When the Prime Ministerial candidate of APNU+AFC, Moses Nagamootoo said he's NOT Indian to the Guyanese nation.

Please note: This thread is NOT meant to bash Mr. Nagamootoo for his statement, but rather to get an understanding if its an error on his behalf, or he is absolute right and prove us wrong in our understanding, between being Guyanese and Indian.

Facts:

1) We are all Guyanese by nationality.

2) We are Indians by race (based on the six people of Guyana).

Take into consideration:

If Mr. Granger says he is NOT African, Afro-Guyanese, or Black (based on Guyana's six people), would that be correct?

For educational purpose only.

Sincerely,

Cobra

August is a Black national holiday.

The Putagees and the Chinese are of no consequence. Guyana has three principal races the State must bend to in terms of group identity and group rights: Blacks, Indians, and Amerindians.

I thought Guyana was a land of six races. So minority groups have no rights now? You are going further off the deep end with every passing day.

Each community will have to come together and make it happen. As with Indians, they're the largest race in Guyana and the diaspora. May be you can do some infoplease on Guyana cultural activities among the other races.

Read am again. Guyana no longer has six significant races. It has 3.

Bro, you have to do your homework on these things or listen to someone who knows like Shaitan. You can't look at everything negatively to make political statements.

So in your book there are no rights for minority groups? Nice. Your philosophy is revealing itself more and more with every sunrise. Something about elections in Guyana that brings out the true nature of its people whether they live in the mud or they are just expatriate mudheads. Carry on smartly.

Shut up for a change. No wonder Shaitaan thinks you're the imbecile of the family. Shaitaan knows what he knows based on his upbringing in Berbice and RH. That is not the world. There are people with different experiences who also have a voice and deserve to be heard when they speak.

That was a great question actually. Their children will have to celebrate it everyday. That's how often they run from their government..the one that supposedly is there for them.

I am gratified to learn that you think my world has been/still is Berbice and RH. Even if that were true, it would not reflect poorly on me because I have lived in both places and find nothing wrong with them. I've also traveled fairly well since I was a minor and worked for and among varied peoples of varied backgrounds. I also attended a real university and secured real qualifications. Just an FYI!

So no Dear third class whiteman, my world is not confined to the rum shaps of Berbice and Richmond Hill.

It is precisely because it is not that I hold the opinions I hold now. The world we live in is one of power relationships and winners v losers. And tribes that lose in this Darwinian environment end up extinct.

Which is why Guyanese Indians need to learn to hold their own and not trust in the goodwill of others, especially when we've seen the "goodwill" of others in practice.

That you have a low opinion of Indian people is also quite evident which is precisely the reason why Indians need to hold together and not trust in the "goodwill" of the likes of you.

Apaan jaat vs. extinction is no real choice to make.

You can take a mudhead out of the mud but you can't take the mud out of his head. You are a product of your environment and it is apparent for everyone here to see on a daily basis especially since elections has been announced and you supremacists start to act even more crazy than you already are.

You may call me third class or whatever the fvck you want but in my book there is no one on this planet superior to me since I don't harbor any notions that race makes someone superior. You must be either really childish or just simply crass if you think that your racist insults will bother me one bit. You may think of yourself as inferior based on your own Dalit experiences or whatever voices are howling in your crazy head but I'm very confident of the man I am and no low class trash like you could ever make me feel inferior.

Here you are in America running to file lawsuits to give minorities a voice which they rightfully deserve but in Guyana you don't think that minority groups should have any rights. A bit of hypocrisy, wouldn't you say?

Here is what the ACDA, IAC & PPP has to say about Moses Nagamootoo statement that he's NOT Indian. It's not just me or a few, but many people who will digest his non-Indian statement with a big question mark. I wish Moses could take back his word. I also hope this doesn't jeopardize his election bid with all sincerity.

The statement is very stupidly being taken out of context. The man was merely trying to establish his Guyanese identity takes precedence over his East Indian heritage.

Of course you coolies who grew up on your verandahs in fear of the black man would take it out of context.

I agree with him wholeheartedly. I would go further and claim unequivocally that I am NOT Indian, since Indians are by definition from India.

Indians is ambiguous. American Indians or East Indians? If you mean East Indians, defining people from India as a race called East Indian is misleading, incorrect and practically impossible. If you need assistance to figure this out stop posting.

You are LAW - loud and wrang. I repeat the concept of an East Indian race is practically impossible. Do some proper research. Start by defining the physical features of an East Indian race.

And how did you come up with an East Asian race vs an East Indian race?
