In Guyana politics, you can't be too out spoken and act unilaterally in the public domain. You will be seen as a traitor. If you don't get shipped out, they will make you feel unwelcome until you have to leave. So far, only Moses became a neemakaram by saying one thing and doing another. That's why Jagan didn't think he was fit to be president under the PPP banner. 

And you believe this is the way for Indians and Guyana to progress?

The PPP claims it's a multi-racial party. That may be so, but the PPP since the 1950s always believed that the East Indian constituency is its birthright.

When Afros like Martin Carter, Sidney King, Winifred Gaskin and Jane Phillips-Gay deserted the PPP it was no big deal.

But when Indos left, the PPP called them traitors, turncoats, opportunists and other derogatory names.

Check the newspaper archives and you will see how the PPP reviled Indos like Dr J. P. Latchmansingh, Jai Narine Singh, Balram Singh Rai, Moses Bhagwan, K. Zaman Ali, Ranji Chandisingh, Vincent Teekah, Halim Majeed, Joshua Chowritmootoo, Dr Fred Sukdeo, Lallbachan Lallbahadur, Harry Lall, Zaheerudeen, Khemraj Ramjattan, Moses Nagamootoo, Ralph Ramkarran and countless others.

To this minute, the PPP leadership believes East Indians are their voting property. This explains their current campaign in Berbice, where in a clear act of desperation the PPP is busy bad-talking Moses and the AFC Indians.

The Berbicians seem fed up dese days. These days nah lang time.
