Was the security only in place for disgruntled Lindeners?
Now that it has been confirmed that Linden Primo, the man who discharged a firearm during the PNC’s 18th Biennial Congress is not the holder of a firearm license there are several questions which David Granger and the leadership of the PNC which now comprises many former security must answer.
First off we recall that both Granger and his party have been very critical of Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee and the PPP/C government’s handling of the country’s security. They are both on record as having called for Rohee’s resignation as Home Affairs Minister as a result. We would like them to tell us how Linden Primo was able to enter Congress Place with an unlicensed firearm which he later discharged in a very callous manner given the rigorous security measures that were in place. How is it that Primo, with an unlicensed firearm, decked out with his accreditation badge was afforded a privilege which was denied to dozens of Lindeners by virtue of being locked out at the gate?
Finally, the most searching question of all is; if with all their years of security experience Granger, Felix and Joe Harmon could not ensure the security of a few hundred at Congress Place on that fateful day why should we entrust them with ensuring the security of an entire nation?
