Why Van West go to de East fuh cut off water?

Crime is something nobody likes. Dem boys seh it don’t have a person who was a victim of bandits who didn’t want to see all criminals dead.

De people who responsible fuh de security of de nation, dem also does want to mek de people happy.

Ram Jattan get vex because de bandits was always robbing people leaving de bank. De whole govt was looking bad; everybody start fuh cuss Ram Jattan, even de people in he own govt was telling him dat if he don’t do something he gun get knock off.

Because of dat threat, he seh how he gun set up a sting operation to ketch all dem criminals. People start fuh laugh. Some even seh ee telegraphing ee shots.

But he had ee own idea. How to deal wid dem. Yesterday, he put he idea into practice and set de trap.

He put plainclothes police at every bank and dem ketch three who follow a man from Robb Street and de man lead dem to de seawall road and notify de cops.

Now de police got three bandits smelling de mortuary floor and in couple days dem will be smelling daisy by de roots.

Is not dem alone smelling. Yesterday, Van West and ee people smell a bun minibus.

Dem boys hear dem been in Buxton and disconnect a man water supply. De man was sleeping when he neighbor shout to him and tell him some people cut off he water.

De next thing, de villagers see is a few men running up de road and lef dem minibus. De speed dem was running wid, people doubt de mini dem coulda travel so fast.

Even de minibus driver run in de odda direction and lef ee bus at de mercy of de angry Buxtonian.

Dem boys hear minutes later as de angry man was going back to his house, he was grumbling how dem know fuh gie we oil but dem can’t gie he li’l water.

Dem collecting next to nutten fuh de oil but dem want big money fuh de li’l water.

Was fire in de bus and no water to out it. De water did done cut off.

Talk half and bet nobody ain’t cutting off water in Buxton again.

GWI disconnection crew forced to flee as Buxtonian torches bus

A disconnection crew from the Guyana Water Inc. (GWI) was forced to flee yesterday after a Buxton resident torched the minibus they were using.

The incident happened some time yesterday afternoon. GWI’s Managing Director, Dr. Richard Van West Charles, confirming the incident, said that the staffers were badly shaken up and may need counselling.

He said that crews were in the area conducting disconnection exercises. They were using a minibus that was contracted from a private individual.
Kaieteur News was told that the crew disconnected water supply to a yard.

A male neighbour, who was upset at disconnection came out of his yard and threatened the crew. He reportedly then doused the minibus with what appeared to be gasoline, and then set it afire.

The crew, number more than six GWI employees, was forced to flee.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene and the police are hunting him.
Buxton has always been a problematic area for GWI and the Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL), another state-owned company.

For years, especially during the crime wave, no disconnection crews dared to enter the area because of threats and the presence of criminals.
GPL had started talks and works in the area.

With regards to GWI, according to the Managing Director, they have been engaging residents of Buxton with meetings held as recent two months ago.

The official stressed that the neighbours were not hostile. Rather, the aggression came from the one individual who was also reportedly wanted by the police before the incident yesterday.

This is just bullshit. Next time send them with armed escorts......GDF and police. Shouldn't be too hard to find that neighbor. Throw the whole book at he *****. For starters that's at least 6 cases of attempted murder.

Sun Tzu and the Lesson of the Concubines

Sun Tzu’s book, The Art of War, earned him an audience with the King of Wu, who said, “I have thoroughly read your thirteen chapters. May I submit your theory of managing soldiers to a small test?”

Sun Tzu replied, “Sir, you may.”

The King of Wu asked, “Can the test be applied to women?” Sun Tzu replied that it could, so arrangements were made to bring 180 beautiful women from the palace. Sun Tzu divided them into two companies with one of the King’s favorite concubines at the head of each. He then made all of them take spears in their hands and spoke to them: “I presume you know the difference between front and back, right hand, and left hand?”

The women replied, “Yes.”

Sun Tzu continued, “When to the sound of drums I order ‘eyes front,’ look straight ahead. When I order ‘left turn,’ face toward your left hand. When I order ‘right turn,’ face toward your right hand. When I order ‘about turn,’ face around to the back.”

After the words of command had been explained, the women agreed they understood. He gave them spears so he could begin the drill. To the sound of drums, Sun Tzu ordered “right turn.”

In response, the women burst out in laughter.

With great patience, Sun Tzu said, “If the instructions and words of command are not clear and distinct, if orders are not thoroughly understood, then the general is to blame.” He then repeated the explanations several times. This time he ordered the drums to signal “left turn,” and again the women burst into laughter.

Sun Tzu replied, “Having received the sovereign’s commission to take charge and direct these troops, there are certain orders I cannot accept.” He immediately had the two concubines beheaded as an example and appointed the two next in line as the new leaders.

Now the drums were sounded again and the drill began. The women performed all the maneuvers exactly as commanded, turning to the right or left, marching ahead, turning around, kneeling, or rising. They drilled perfectly in precision and did not utter a single sound.

Sun Tzu sent a messenger to the King of Wu saying, “Your Majesty, the soldiers are now correctly drilled and perfectly disciplined. They are ready for your inspection. Put them to any use you desire. As sovereign, you may choose to require them to go through fire and water and they will not disobey.”

The King responded, “Our commander should cease the drill and return to his camp. We do not wish to come down and inspect the troops.”

With great calm, Sun Tzu said, “This king is only fond of words and cannot carry them into deeds.”

Officials were emphatically specific that this was perpetuated by one individual so how does that translate into "Buxtonians" and why was the water being disconnected?
