The NFL Commissioner has introduced the culture of health and safety concerns in public dialog following all the attention given over the last few years to players' health in an increasingly violent sport. Bob Costas was reviled years ago for bringing it to the public's attention, and even President Obama joined in by saying if he had a son he would think long and hard about encouraging him to play NFL football.
