Several years ago, I met Mr. Brindley Benn in Los Angeles, California. The year was 1991, and at that time things were closing in on the PNC led by Desmond Hoyte. So, I said to Mr. Benn "next year is election, in Guyana" and he replied, to me, "OK Mr. Hoyte". Also, he said that it is like sucking a sweetie (candy) and Hoyte is getting the last taste. The same can be said for Granger and his associates. The Granger Administration does not want to call early elections. As the late Mr. Benn would have said they are enjoying the taste of their power candy.
So, will there be an early election in Guyana, I think not.
