Mae’s and North Georgetown recorded victories when the National Sports Commission Ministry of Education AL Sport and Tour Promotions 20th Annual Primary Schools Day/Night Overhand Windball Cricket Champions continued recently at the National Gymnasium.
Playing in the male category, Mae’s defeated St. Ann’s by 72 runs. Batting first, Mae’s posted 174-1 with Antwan Pinto scoring 80 (12x6s), while Jonathan Van Lange stroked 78 (11x6s).
Saint Ann’s were limited to 102-2 in reply. Kester Singh made 56 and Joel Lakhan 35.
North Georgetown beat St. Angela’s by 21 runs. North Georgetown batted first and managed 134-1. Yonnick North slammed 46, while Shiloh Adams got 42 and Kellon King 34. St. Angela’s made 113-1 in reply. Paul Grant scored 62 and Antonio Mc Arthur 42.
Winfer Gardens and St. Pius played to a tie. Winfer Gardens got to 103 -2, taking first turn at the crease. Yuwen Clementson made 36, Orlando Dickie 32 and Rashidi Taylor 16. St. Pius responded with 103 without loss. Damian Ifill struck 76 and Akeem Pereira 16.
In the female segment, Mae’s beat Graham’s Hall by 44 runs. Mae’s batted first and made 119 without loss. Jayna Qualander slammed 78 (7x6s), while Sasha Persaud contributed 24.
Grahams Hall were restricted to 75-1 in reply. Alecia Elcock led with 54 and Marcia Ketwaroo got 16.
Meanwhile, the Quarter finals will be played today commencing at 10:00am with Sophia, Grahams Hall, Mae’s, North Georgetown, Winfer Gardens, Stella Maris, Sophia and Saint Ambrose in action.
The semi finals and finals will be played on July 1st at the said venue commencing at 16:00hrs.
