The Guyana government on Thursday announced the withdrawal of the non-approval of the US$1.2 million Leadership and Democracy Project (LEAD) being funded by the United States government.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon says the withdrawal now paves the way for representatives of the Guyana government and those of the American embassy to discuss and agree to the design of the new project that will enjoy the approval of both sides.
"How could I sit down across the table and in good faith be negotiatingwhen I have hanging over the bannas (brother's) head a non-approval.
"I have to withdraw that non-approval. I can'lt engage in heresy unkless I recognise it as heresy so I have to withdraw the non-approval to allow us to engage," said Luncheon.
He did not give a time-frame by which the parties would sign off on a new LEAD project that is aimed at ensuring greater civil society, political and grassroots persons in policy-formulation and decision making. Among the areas of focus envisaged in LEAD are local government election education and management.

Guyana govt withdraws disapproval of LEAD project

Approval of both side are the operative words and intentions.

How Shameful are these scumbags

They were more scared of aid money drying up. Siphoning off aid dollars is easy pickings for the corrupt PPP. They have to keep that cash cow alive to fund their mansions and lavish lifestyles.
