These cowards can only assault women. They will never try that shit on someone their match. Very sad.

It is one thing about the cowards. But the issue is a societal one, part of the national culture, it seems for macho men to treat women as their playthings. 

Imagine that this problem was brought to the attention of authorities before the killing....

Guys have to think through, this is the mother of his kids.   It matters not how angry and upset you get in these situations.  Think beyond your anger, think of your children and the implications for them, even if you don’t care about yourself.

She still trusted him and went into the car with him so she clearly was not engulfed in hatred of him.

Now what, five kids lost their mother and their father. They are now orphaned at the hands of a person they call “daddy!”

This is much worse on them than if some bandit had killed both parents!  Horrible!!😥

This would the time when an exception to the law is acceptable. Some men who abuse their wives commit these types of crimes.

Wife abusers should be severely punished and locked away. A lot of Guyanese men think that it is acceptable behaviour.

Being compensated,  you mean the husband PAID her to stay quiet?? The police failed to do their job, lock him up.

In N/A , a crime is a crime, he should have been punished the first time and she moved to her family. It is unfortunate in Guyana ,there is NO support system for battered spouses, in Toronto there are shelter for abused women ,plus free legal support.

 That SOB is no good to society, he deserves the most severe penalty.

Any kind of abuse is a legal matter, it's the duty of the law/Police to investigate and file charges. That death could have avoided if the police had done their work.

Any kind of abuse is a legal matter, it's the duty of the law/Police to investigate and file charges. That death could have avoided if the police had done their work.

Not if she doesn't press charges. The most they can do is give him a warning unless they, the police, witnessed the abuse. In that case the police officer can be a witness and then it becomes State vs....

can't happen in Guyana. The PPP failed miserable to reform it after 23 years.

There is a lot of circumstantial evidence against him.  The reporter’s testimony will be key, her family/kids need to testify to establish motive. 

I am speechless that he once tried to kill her and she did not get him for attempted murder. 😕

I say bring back the death penalty. Send a strong message to criminals that once you're found guilty, you'll pay the price.

BS. I have no A-levels and am proud to have been a GDF officer via officer cadet course at CUPOCS. Is there discrimination? Of course. But racism is rampant in both races. No one stops Indos from entering the military, para-military, or law enforcement. How long were you in the military and which arm were you in?
