WPA Dr Hinds gives APNU failing grade; says coalition non-existent outside of Parliament
Dr David Hinds, an Executive Member of the Working Peoples Alliance (WPA), which forms the second largest bloc within A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), has returned to Guyana and delivered a blistering assessment of the coalition’s performance over the past year.
Maintaining a position that the APNU does not exist outside of Parliament, Dr Hinds says“I will give the APNU an ‘F’ in terms of advancing the agenda that they put to the Guyanese people.”
Dr Hinds was at the time appearing on ‘Plain Talk’ with eminent chartered accountant, and attorney-at-law, Christopher Ram.
He reminded that the principle platform of APNU on the campaign trail was that of pursuing a government of national unity.
Dr Hinds is of the opinion that the coalition has failed miserably to pursue this agenda saying that APNU has not effectively been using its parliamentary clout.
The WPA Executive Member said “it’s almost criminal,” the failure on the part of the APNU in the House, even as he congratulated the Alliance for Change (AFC) for what he describes as a satisfactory performance.
He says that the AFC pursued the agenda that it campaigned on and as such should be commended.
As it relates to the APNU internal meetings, Dr Hinds said that following the previous elections the WPA and the Peoples National Congress Reform (PNCR) which forms the largest bloc of the coalition has not met.
