XX111 Goodwill Swim Meet commences August 18 at NAC

The XX111 edition of the Goodwill Swim Meet has been set for August 18-21 at the National Aquatic Centre, Lilliendaal, East Coast, Demerara.
Exciting action is anticipated as Guyana will look to turn back the challenges of Suriname, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia and guest countries The Bahamas and Greneda. The visiting countries are expected to field a squad of 40 athletes along with eight officials.
Following the Republic Anniversary meet which was held in March, The Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) has shortlisted the top swimmers in the respective categories from which the final squad will be named after the July Sprints.
Guyana is one of the three countries that formed the Goodwill Swim Meet 23 years ago which is the brainchild of Charles Corbin, Stephanie Fraser and Sean Baksh and was later joined by Joanne Lowe. Those shortlisted are Girls eight and under; Andica Vieira, Nia Burch-Smith, Jasmin Allen, Joyel Forrester, Kyra Soares and Jovana Goodridge.
Girls nine-ten; Aleka Persaud, Ariel Rodrigues, Patrice Mahaica, Monique Watson, Kayla Hardy, Kayly Hardy and Zara Crane.
Girls 11-12; Lian Winter, Amber De Goeas, Nikita Peters, Maiya Ifill and Giselle Crane.
Girls 13-14; Jayden George, Danielle George, Donner Carter, Sofia Pinol, Donna Todd, Latisha Blair and Krystal Brown.
Girls 15-17; Nikita Feidtkou, Anna Isaacs, Kenita Mahaica, Safiya Foster, Accalia Khan and Teshanna Hunter.
Boys 8 and under; Jonathan Lewis, Aarav Singh, Iyshawn Morriah, Jeremy Sookram, Nathan Fraser and Maciah Ence.
Boys nine-ten; Jeleel Anderson, Paul Mahaica, Jeron Sookram, Elliot Gonsalves, Hashim Mohamed, Vladimir Woodroffe and Micah Chichester.
Boys 11-12, Leon Seaton, Raekwon Noel, Ejaz Mohamed, Ethan Gonsalves, Annan Roberts, Daniel Claxton and Nathan Jackson.
Boys 13-14; Sekhel Tzedeq, Sion Jeffers, Shamal Bryan, Jonathan Sookram, Olaleye Olatomiwa, Wilson De Andre, David Elijah and Pires Von.
Boys 15-17; Joseph De Nobrega, Antonio Rodrigues, Andrew Jordan, Alex Winter, Nikhil Ramnarine, Daniel Scott and George Telford.
