Nagamootoo is a nut case.
The sectoral committees were designed to be the Watch-Dog and thus ought not to fall victim to a MINORITY Government.
So in seeking to amend the Standing Orders, we in the AFC felt it was the right thing to do since we felt it was in keeping with the REVOLUTIONARY AND DEMOCRATIC INTENTIONS OF THE PARTY.
We should have full scrutiny of the Government and thus the format must be changed.
When the Government had the majority, they placed themselves in a position to dominate the work of Parliament.
Now we are holding their feet to the fire and we are demanding accountability and we are questioning corruption in which people like Ramkarran and Joey Jagan have described as pervasive.
There is every reason to follow the new arithmetic which has moved in favour of the opposition benches and thus you cannot cede your numbers to a minority Government.
That is the imperative in which we acted with and therefore I reject the minority report - NAGAMOOTOO.
