Zeeburg, Meten-Meer-Zorg, Belle Vue chalk wins as WDCA U19 tourney continues

Zeeburg, Meten-Meer-Zorg and Belle Vue registered victories when action in the West Demerara Cricket Association (WDCA) U19 50-over tournament continued recently.
At Zeeburg, the home team batted first and scored 226-9 off their reduced quota of 35 overs. Shay Narine struck 51 not out, while Ushaardave Balgobin made 40 and Andy Khan 31. Paul Jetro claimed 2-21. Cold Fusion were skitted for 38 in 17 overs in reply. Trevayne Mohabir made 10 as Khan bagged 5-10 and Saffeek Deonarine 2-1.
At Meten-Meer-Zorg, the host took first strike and posted 272-9 in 40 overs. Deryck Foo scored 48, Deonarine Sewnarine 46 and Rajesh Budram 36; Satesh Basdeo captured 4-44 and Ravin Paramdeo 2-30. Mc Gill were bowled out for 167 in 40 overs in reply. Troy Persaud slammed 77, Salman Mustapha 31 and Satesh Basdeo 16. Kevin Latchoo picked up 4-18. The game was reduced to 40 overs due to rain.
At Belle Vue, Independence were bowled out for 107 in 26 overs. Aaron Seepersaud made 54 not out and Anil Persaud 22. Satesh Bisram took 2-12. Belle Vue replied with 111-3 in 16 overs. Navindra Persaud made an unbeaten 35 and Ryan Seecharran 24 not out. Christopher Gurdyal and Mark Crawford had one wicket each.
