go to the old city, but parking is a bitch. Walk around instead.
brush up on your French!!
imagine I have lived in canada for 37 years and haven't gone to montreal/quebec
but....one of these days.
Just walk with a French letter. That will do
Just a french letter! take the whole alphabet from "A" to "Zed"
Old Montreal is beautiful with cobblestone streets, artists in alleys, horse drawn carriages, quaint boutiques etc but I must warn you, those people got no time for English speaking people, especially since the PQ's just got elected.
They're the guys who would love to have Quebec separated from the rest of Canada.
I've heard there's a lot of English speaking people preparing to leave as some did back around the 80's.
Too bad the other Provinces are East of them or I'd say build a wall separating them from the rest of the country.
The other side of the coin is they want to retain their culture, they see immigrants coming in and trying to change their homeland as we see in other provinces and this gets their blood boiling.
After all that, enjoy the trip,
Cain.....after all of dat.... even I don't want to go 'one of these days'!!
I just came back from Canada. Went for my cuz' wedding. Nice place he got married. Bombay Palace.
I find Montreal people funny. I went into a Mcdonald (or some fast food joint) and this black girl throwing a lot of French lingo at me. I tell her, you don't see I is a Berbice coolie? Then she reluctantly reverted to English.
