New political party A New and United Guyana (ANUG) has announced the election of its first Executive Committee, with co-founders Timothy Jonas and Senior Counsel Ralph Ramkarran elected as Chairperson and General Secretary, respectively.
The elections took place last Sunday at the party’s first Members Meeting, where its constitution was also adopted.

Your comment ignores the dictates of Guyana's post-independence history...the same was said about about previous small parties...how much of a difference have they made so far?
Regarding ANUG...these are city folks who have no electoral base or solid support. The country is divided and the the tribes are defending their turf.
The only small party capable of gaining some support now is the Amerindian party....
I am deeply concerned that the Rank is going to take a crucial chunk of Indian votes in the next election.
The people learned their lesson with AFC, even lilly jump ship now. I will be surprised if AGNU wins 1 seat.

Sorry, that was an announcement of the formation with no formalized mission statement, priorities, agenda etc. After that one member said he is leaving, then returned.
I view this announcement as a milestone and anchor. They look so uncoordinated and chop-shop.
Im not commenting of their agenda and mission, that’s a different matter. Just imagery!

Ramkarran is now what I would call "Christo-Kali Mai". This new faith is blend between Christianity and Hinduism of Southern India (Madras).
