I am baking. In our house unfortunately, there is not much of a request for the Guyanese black cake. I am baking sponge, red velvet cheese cakes among other things.quote:Originally posted by Dhall:

I am making sponge cake and fruit cake..most of it is given to relatives..no big cake eaters in my home.
One of my aunts in Guyana once made black cake from 5 fingers and downs and some other fruits and I could not tell the difference between that and ones made from the imported prunes and raisins.
So why make it? let them make their own and the time saved you can come to RH and get a cheap Manicure and peticure. ]Originally posted by alena:

Are you sure you're not buying the red velvet and cheese cake at BJ's or Casco and said you baked it? I didn't know you have baking skills, too. Congratulation!

I've never baked red velvet. I might try a sponge this year. I ground up some fruit today and maybe, just maybe I'll make a fruit cake. Tell us more about your baking D2.
