OK Folks!

The question is a simple one:

ARE YOU A HAT PERSON OR A CAP PERSON ?

The Rev is a collector of caps---any place I go---I get a cap as a souvenir----when family members travel and want to get me something---they know I'd be happy with a simple cap.

I have way over a hundred caps---but I have a few hats also---my favorite hat is the one that Harrison Ford wore in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

How about you folks---CAPS OR HATS ?

Some images will be posted below.

You can order a custom made Stetson or other brands from AZ-Tex Hat Company for the gentleman.

NO HEAD IS TOO SMALL FOR A CUSTOM MADE STETSON.

waste of time to collect hats...that is for bald men or men with thinning hair or big headed ugly fu.5ks like you know who!!!. Women and hats are fine!

I collect vintage guitars and vintage pens. I used to collect bayonets and swords but I sold them all and bought a few more guitars.

So it's a waste of time to collect caps or hats---but not a waste of time to collect guitars and vintage pens ?

By the way, the next collection the Rev will embark on is rare books.

Hmmmm! Is there really a Guyana edition to Mark Twain's Adventures of Tom Sawyer ?

Didn't know that.

I have a Gibson ES 250. It was around $100 when made. It is anywhere between 35k to 50k now. I have  a  blond 65 strat that was originally 300 ( I have 4 strats and a telecaster of the same era). It is between 3k to 5k. I have 2 Martin D28s and each is around five K etc. My guitar collection is now 23 guitars and  they are  significant asset besides I get to play the finest instruments in their class. I also managed to get  most signed so their worth is even more than standard market price. All together they probably cost me a 10th of what I can get for them together.

It is similar with pens. If you kept your $3 warever pens we used in school they would be worth at minimum 50 to collectors. Some of the better ones of the era are in the thousand dollar range . I have over a 4 hundred pens ranging from a few dollars ( I collected them because they were unique) to a few thousand dollars.

Pens and Guitar sell like hot cakes if one need to convert them to cash. And with guitars, buyers are everywhere. They are also not difficult to find since many people unload gems when they are broke and you simply have to browse places like pawnshops, yard sales and Craigslist to find them. Everyone give up pens because they do not know the price.

My wife collect first edition and rare books. She has a significant collection. Since you are in the Philly area you are in book collector haven.

I do not know there is much demand for caps...vintage couture hats maybe but they would be costly to begin with and with little increase in value over time. Guitars always increase in value.

Your wife is surely an interesting person---I have just started my rare book collection.

By the way storm that was quite an interesting post above!

I BELIEVE THEIR IS A COLLECTOR IN EVERY HUMAN BEING!

Have you ever seen that show American Pickers ?

Everytime I see that show I am reminded of the saying, "one man's trash is another man's treasure---there are some amazing collectors featured on that show.

Another show I like is PAWN STARS----people sell and pawn some really interesting stuff----next time I'm in Vegas I'll have to stop by the store.

You mentioned the Gibson ES 250----you are right---the real ones are quite valuable---I have seen a few on that PAWN STAR show.

Once again---nice post Storm!

Regarding my collection of caps---it started innocently---every cap I collect from my travels brings back sweet memories---I am now into rare books.

What were you after, the ambiance of salt fish and the sea? Could not be much resale value in them and unless washed no value in having them in the house however much the trophy value!

The girls dem placed their wear onto the hooks (I always had a different story for why the undies were on the hooks, I'd say, "Ahhhh it's there just for a laugh"

These were pretty panties not BIG taranted bloomers.

cain

What do you have against my panties an bra story eh?

No we have two cats, no dog.  I plan on doing some moving around and having a dog is like having a child. The cats are ok alone or with someone checking on them on occasion and dropping a bit of food along with a clean up of their litterbox and they're ready to go.

With a dog it's more work. I do miss having one though. I always play with the few I meet around Merton St.

now what do you have against dogs?  They are more fun. I have a cat also. I had one his name was indi for independent. He died after 15 years. We were on a hike in George Washington Forest a few years ago and my dogs found a kitten. I still have him. I call him Indi Too ( so as not to insult him with indi II)
