Fed up with persistent overtures, a woman allegedly beat a man dead with a rolling pin when she took food for him on Monday, according to police sources.

Investigators were told that the man’s body was found around 8:30 PM and the police was summoned.

The dead man has been identified 64-year old Azad Ghanie of Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo

Police Chief of Criminal Investigations, Deputy Commissioner Seelall Persaud said the woman, who was Ghanie’s tenant, usually cooked for him.

Investigators learnt that Ghanie was allegedly in the habit of making overtures to the woman whenever she took his meals.

When she took his food Monday around 2 O’Clock, she allegedly armed herself with a rolling pin and dealt him several blows to his head.

“He was found in his home with injuries to his head,” said Guyana Police Force spokesman, Ivelaw Whittaker.

“A woman along with her son and daughter, and who are resident on the lower flat of the building, have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations,” Whittaker added.
