Bollywood stylist Leepakshi Ellawadi takes on Milan!

Read what Leepakshi Ellawadi, the popular Bollywood stylist and our guest fashion columnist was up to when she was in Milan recently!

So, finally I say hello to the social media worldFor a long time I struggled to be consistent with posting and writing stuff as Twitter left me always short on space and Instagram was mostly about just a nice crisp image without being repetitive and me?!? I’m the one who is terribly behind on posting my looks while I am at the shows and the stores, taking videos and selfies with all the interesting people I meet at work.

But I think it was about time that I changed!

So here I am in this little space sharing all the “coolth” that I get to see and experience in my little world of fashion -art- travel and food.

Let’s start with Milan Diaries… I spent a good two weeks stuffing my face with all the cheese one can imagine and scouting for some undiscovered fashion. When I landed, I could smell the buzz of Fashion Week in the air and I had too many things on my ‘to-do’ list.

I also stumbled upon the Milan film festival. I was lucky enough to get a late night ticket to an Italian film and later I took the tram back at 3 am to where I was staying. I was trying to be all cool but honestly Italy isn’t very kind to people who can’t speak the language.

Since food continues to be my first love I kept a few days in Milan free to try out and some amazing petit restaurants, small patisseries and the newest gelato flavours that I hadn’t gorged on till then.

Appointments were running full but I still managed my way with sown red lipstick on and some fluttering of the eyes to make it to my first store appointment at Dolce and Gabbana. Mind you, there were four D&G stores on the street of Via Della Spiga and I had to finish all my browsing in not more than two hours. My store manager helped as much as she could in her attempt to speak in English and I muttered half sentences in my minimal broken Italian. Well, we managed well and here are some amazing fashion week pieces you just can’t take your eyes off!

Until then, I’ll leave you to dream about the D&G beauties.
