Many Guyanese will have to do without their famous native pepperpot dish this Christmas!

In preparation, the beef is usually pressured until soft and then boiled with casareep, and other spices.  The problem is the pressure cooker is now classified a dangerous weapon.  Any purchase will now require a Federal background check and waiting period similar to that of purchasing an AK47.

Of course, as a result of these background checks, many Guyanese, legals as well as illegals, will abstain from purchasing pressure cookers.

So alas, a specific segment of the Guyanese Diaspora will not be enjoying pepperpot this Christmas!

Will the Hindu and Christian brothers be willing to share their pepperpot with the fullah brothers?  Halaal, of course!

My, oh my, look who the pressure cooker blew in! Us Guyanese peeps are resourceful and there will be no pressure on us to get our pepper pot.

Welcome back TI Were you shackled and under pressure to oblige those Victoria Secret models again?

Pressure cookers are not necessary in the preparation of pepperpot. Most people do not use them and clearly the Amerind from whom the essential recipe came did not use it.

Stormborn, Exactly! I do not pressure my pepperpot... cook on low heat for couple of hours, will do the job.

In fact I do mine in a crock-pot/slow cooker, 2 days before Christmas; re-heat everyday.

Amerindians call it a tomapot. It is always cooking.

Presumably, this dream became a nightmare? Is this the origin of the viral PM? Things (among others) that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmm.
