This photo is a grim reminder of how destructive the PNC operatives were back in 1962.

And the PPP supporters were no less violent when they burned down homes occupied by blacks, rubbed oil on their skin, and then waited with sharpened cutlasses for the occupants to escape.  The oil was to make their skin slippery so grabbing them to seize the cutlass was difficult.

I was a little boy in that era. By your own admission all you know is what you were told.

Never heard of this, it is a figment of your imagination. If this was true then how come over the past 60 years all we hear about is Blacks beating Indians? If Indians were so violent then they would have long burnt Guyana under the PNC era.

I think Granger wrote about the PPP violence and murders in a paper some ten years ago...well I read it then. Will have to look for it. Indians started the riots by jumping their fellow cane cutters in Tain.  Indians are as violent as any race on the planet.

I rest my case.  You weren't alive then, so only know the steady diet of lies told to you by your brown bai KKK fanatics.

Eusi Kwayana had a book called "No Guilty Race".  This in response to the brown bai KKK who were beating the drum called "black bad, Indo good, so black man have to apologize".  This when they aren't chanting "blackman a kill ahbe."

Contrary to the screams by baseman, druggie, yuji, cobra, skeldon, etc the first racial killing was that of a black man in Berbice.

After the 61 election a motorcade of jubilant PPP supporters drove through black villages, screaming racial epithets, and threatening to bring back slavery.

Granger is a known hater of Indians. It was the Blacks committing murders. You keep referring to alleged riots almost 60 years ago. Why didn't this "inherent" violent trait of the Indians manifest itself during the 28 years of PNC suppression and 23 years of PPP rule? Blacks had no problems burning and looting in the 23 of PPP rule but Indians, not a peep during the PNC years other than burning cane fields.

Dont know if he hate Indians. I know you are obsessed about black people and cannot help leveling charges against the people and culture for presumed mental deficits. That is your curse. You obviously have deep seated anxiety about your capabilities so you invent lots of shit to compensate.

In any event, the paper I read was supposedly history as he saw it unfold. It was a narrative and not an empty tirade of declarative sentences that you mindlessly heap on us every day in your diatribes against black people. He had a long list of people supposedly injured or murdered by the PPP with the when where and why. Will check for the article when I have some free time.

I have no obsession with Blacks, I merely comment on what I observe. There are many documented evidence of Guyanese Blacks harassing IndoGuyanese, killing, robbing and raping.  To ignore this is to bury ones head in the sand.

History of the period from Africans who experienced it is sparse. On relies on Morrison or Eusi or Hinds ( and he does not write histories) to get a glimpse of what happened from their view points. I can verify some of what he said from father Morrison who while not black was not a tool of the PPP. Many indian scholars take their view whole cloth.

I say supposed because I have not been able to get a second opinion. It may be my sloppy pursuit of the information but I have to get that   secondary corroboration. I look up the document and check if it was sourced then cross check those resources.

you are a bigot. Rapes murder and mayhem happens with equal frequency in Indian communities. If it is black on indian you folks do not treat it as criminality but as an attack on race and that is where your bigotry and text intrude to pollute the context. The subtext then is that blacks habitually rape and kill indians...the ever present victim narrative we hear as dog whistles everywhere.

Ok you taking the title of this thread too literal.  How can the PPP bring back slavery????  And if any Indians drive through a black village screaming racial epithets they would all be dead by now.

Well they did scream at the blacks that they would put them into slavery and were quite insulting.

You then wonder why the events of 1962 followed those of 1961!

BTW "Lord Cheddi" was so embarrassed that he had to tell his people to behave themselves.   This after a black PPP female ran out to meet the motorcade, and then met a tsunami of insults.

Bet you she changed sides, and voted PNC in 1964.

Carib, this is where you lose me.  You are such a racist and a liar.  You make up all this shyte and shout at the top of you voice and hope it becomes the truth.  How the hell you know all this details, were you there, or you listening to some old wash-up PNC racists living his end of days in Brooklyn.  You try to make everything into a "Sun Chapman" lie!!

Get use to it. You hate Indians. WE hate you back. You kill us and we killed you back. It will never mend.

There is no hope for the country. The leaderships has been like wild animals, sharing the space but quite cognizant of racial differences. The lion will never lie with a tiger. Guyanese citizens are voracious, they kill for all sorts of reasons, if permitted they could be cannibals. Eating the hearts of their enemies. Such is the hate.

This current regime is no different than the previous ones. They are too pre-occupied with racism. And the Indians who holds positions in the RDC are very disrespectful to Granger. These acts of disrespect will only add to Granger's inherent dislike for Indians. I suspect, he thinks Indians have some bad traits. He was in the Army and indoctrinated by the PNC regime-a product of the era. As he puts it, the Disturbances. He will harden his position against Indians unless Indians respects his stature in the country.

Freddie's article was of some interest. What was the conversation between Trotman and Granger at the conference 10 years ago in Bahamas.

Perhaps, to have Black rule again?

Whether Indian or Negro leadership, they fail to realize the necessity of building a modern state with the pillars that sustains it. Because, such a state would be there for whenever the racists among us are gone into oblivion and the people transcends into a consciousness that the state protects their individuals rights regardless of their race. That, is, above every stripe of racist. Because the country will never rid itself of racism. A lion will never lie with a lamb, not until after the Tribulations. According to the Bible.

Suh, why the insults. In Guyana, I doubt whether the people would listen to reason and proclaim, "Blessed is the Peacemaker."

And the same occurs in Black communities. The issue is when the two races turn on each other, it is normally the Indian who gets the short end of the stick. If you were a Guyanese you would have no problem acknowledging this as it is common knowledge. The fact that you are arguing otherwise confirms my suspicion that you are an outsider pretending to be Guyanese.

AT least Cheddi had the integrity to be embarrassed by the blatantly racist behavior of his supporters, who abused even the few black PPP supporters.

Ask PPP supporters why they think that he is "Lord". They seem to think him as a perfection, who can do no wrong.

Oh I see. You paint blacks as 100% responsible for racism. When I tell you that Indians were also involved, you scream that I am racist.

Blowing up a boat, packed with blacks, was a PYO act.  Just admit it, and get off your racist high horse. It was part of the tit or tat which BOTH groups engaged in.

If you scroll through the pictures on FB you will note that it was mentioned that during the 28 years of rule under the PNC, there was no attempt to validate that the PPP supporters had anything to do with the blowing up of the Sun Chapman boat. Not even a sham of a COI.  Why you may ask? Because once again the PNC were transporting explosives to further destroy Indian properties. Any investigations back then would have exposed the PNC as the culprits.

The two races have never had useful communion. There has always been a low lever internecine warfare between the two tribal Guyanese groups. Only a narrow gap in the broad spectrum of our people are ever out of harms way. The majority has always suffered and at present the continue to suffer on account of this squabbling like greedy ducks.

You will note that Blacks have always been the aggressors as they see Indians as easy targets to rob, rape and murder.  The passive Indian is world renowned, even the criminals in the US see them as easy targets. You on the other hand want to paint a picture of an aggressive Indian trouble making population in Guyana.

I will note nothing of the kind.   And an indian identified government  has worked havoc on the state in terms of corruption so comparatively speaking I do not see daylight between which group did more of what.
