A Bronx teacher arrested on charges of molesting a young boy got fired this spring over inappropriately touching another student.

Tulsie Singh, 35, tickled the second boy, gave him money and gifts, and told the child, "I love you" over three months last year - a hearing officer found in his decision allowing the city to ax Singh.

Singh's actions could "reasonably be interpreted as attempting to solicit a sexual relationship," the hearing officer wrote in his April decision.

Singh had previously been removed from the classroom over unspecified accusations, but Department of Education investigators did not find sufficient evidence in those cases to accuse him formally.

Singh was arrested Tuesday at his Bronx home after being accused of molesting a child from 2004 to 2007. The boy's family only recently reported the abuse to cops, sources said.

Singh and his lawyer did not respond to calls for comment.

It's not illegal in Guyana. The PPP regime is trying to make the country a popular destination for foreign paedophiles.

Jagdeo will do anything for three cents and a nickel so I'm not surprised.

Child sexual molestation is bad enough but when teachers are involved it give parents reasons to lost faith in our educational institutions.

This is an uncomfortable position for any child to live with and every parent's nightmare to know that schools are unsafe even with teachers. Whether the teacher is Guyanese or Trinidadian, male or female is not the point. The point is that the child's privacy has been violated and whoever is responsible should be prosecuted equally.

Female sexual predators are on the rise. Not long ago we debated on another female teacher who committed sexual acts with her students and many fathers on GNI thought that was fun, and the teacher was being humped by young studs rather than condemning the teacher's sexual appetite for under-age students as a crime. This is one of the reasons why men cannot get respect when it comes to sexes and right from wrong because they think with their head below.

Another reason why we can't stick to the heart of a story is because every ass hole has something to say about President Jagdeo amidst a story of greater concern. I've heard many times from posters who said people should take their heads out of their asses and think clearly, which leaves me to wonder who head really get stuck in sh! T .

Cobra is absolutely right. This is something that happened in the Bronx in the Great USA. So what relevance does it have with Jagdeo and Guyanese politics when there are so many relevant issues to address ?

Ksazma, Guyanese are not exempt from child molestation. Sexual abuse is much more common in Guyana than we care to admit. In fact, it is often "hidden" because adults did not believe the victims, they were coerced not to tell, or they were told that this is another way of expressing "love and care". Come to think of it, these are some of the universal reasons sexual abuse is hidden.

I ask everyone here who is reading this thread to reflect upon your life in Guyana and you will recall at least one family where sexual abuse was present.

Teachers also used their power and authority to seduce their students.
