on one of my PC, the blueray DVD drive is not being recognized...not showing up on devices list. I updated driver ...no success.
instead of pulling the whole thing out and reinstalling, what is safest way to fix this problem? I dont want to screw up my registry.

If it does not show up and you tried everything you have to check cabling and if the cables are fine then you have to pull it, test the cable with another device and if that works you know you need to try another drive. Too much time is wasted trying to fix broken things that should be replaced in the first place. If it does not show up and it used to it is most likely dead.

D2 is correct,check all cables from dvd drive to
motherboard and power supply,usually in the device
menu usually you will see question mark if there is
a problem with device,if drive is kaput change it.
Dear Computer/System; can you please restore TI's DVD/Blue Ray drive before 5 minutes after he switches a light switch or appliance on or off. Thank you--Ron

Haha. Thanks! Been busy so did not have time to check, I will open it up tomorrow. Drive is only a year old. It does show the question mark on device list. I was going to delete upper and lower filters but did not want to screw up registry.
